Half Life: Dreamcast WAD & PAK Files

Hi there

Recently came across this game. GCFScape and Wally seem to open these files okay, but Xentax has a bit of trouble with them.

I will attach a WAD file for the minute, the PAK files will need splitting.

Could you possibly have a look and see what the problem is?

Cheers for now

This tool says that it can inject the DDS files into an XPR file -

Also, you will need the DDS plug in for Photoshop to be able to make them.....

Re: Counter-Strike Xbox Recompiling

would you guys ever support making a .wad from just a bunch of files? like after extracting it, recompiling it rather than injecting it back?? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! Because i can like inject new maps, but the textures never work right because their isnt a .wad, it uses .xpr and thats why i want to...

Custom BMS option.. enters *.* to be able to select xpr files... nothing :-(

Can you help an old mind?

Got it thanks :)

In the first thread about SXWads you made a new mc.mrf file to enable xpr format.... I guess the work is already done but I don't know if these files can be merged.

New install help.... I think I am being thick!!

Hi there Just got the new build of MultiEx and thought I'd register it :) (Though not had code yet)... however... The extension listed for Counterstrike XBox is *.wad, instead of *.sxwad... and I seem to have lost functionality for *.xpr files... Will this be sorted via web update when I get my code...

I was going to reply with a nice explanation of why it would be difficult to run other maps with the XBox executable because of the different file structure and graphics the XBox uses... plus it's memory constraints...and a lot more... Then I noticed you were using files from an illegally downloaded...

These tools are VERY cool Mr. Mouse :-) Just having some trouble with the 32 bit bmp textures... just using the Texture Finder to "look" at them, then save them and then open in Photoshop... Any idea of a prog that can open them directly? I couldn't get this DTX plug in to work... Cheers f...

<EDIT!!>

Actually, these are pretty usable (well the xpr's that can be extracted.

Strangley I can extra these files (named BMP etc) and then if I load them into Texture Finder I can see them fine :-)

Quite odd... I gues I will never understand file formats etc!!

Yup... definitely textures in them... I opened one with TextureFinder 2.0 (Tomb Raider Utility). Can't extract them with it though.... They are the same sizes as normal textures, but slightly off-centre :-( I could probably manage with doing this and resizing/cropping/putting together, but it'd be n...

It's a little strange. I have found out that.... The Xbox executable uses MOST of the origianl counterstrike files to "play" the game... BUT... Some things are changed i.e. models use new textures that are contained "elsewhere" namely in these xpr files... The file structure is a...

Nice one :-)

But :-(

I can extract files... but those files should be bmps... but they don't seem to be. In fact, they seem to be about half the size they should be... even though they are supposed to be higher quality... I am confused...

Any ideas?

Great job btw...!!

OMG..... You are an absolute GOD!! More later!! Too excited!! Cheers for now <edit> There is a slight problem :( The textures that I thought were in these wads don't appear to be. It is likely that they are stored in a file with an "xpr" extension, which I believe Xbox uses for pics etc. I...
