i'm not converting textures, no idea what are you talking aboutDimka51Rus wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 4:27 pm Daemon1, Thanks for the bf2042 file extraction utilities!
Is it possible to fix the bug by converting .dds textures, they need to be converted again due to unknown compression. (TXD5)

Hi,
the ebx dumper is working just fine.
Does anybody have an ebx to txt (or xml) converter for the BF2042 ebx files?

How did you do this?
I was able to set the meshset in cmd, but it still just generates 0kb ascii and smd.

find the skeleton (_soldierskeleton.ebx) and put it in the same folder.
You can open the .meshset with bf2042_mesh.exe

I couldn't find _soldierskeleton.ebx, so I renamed the appropriate ebx and used it, and managed to successfully extract a non-0kb file.
By the way, sorry for the elementary question, but do you know how to convert Ascii to Obj or FBX? It seems to be a very common file format in this community, but I don't know how to handle it at all.

I've been browsing for a while and it's solved

Re: Frostbite model tools (Battlefield, Battlefront and others)
If there where a solution, it would have been mentioned already, BF2042 has a completely different/new EBX format it seems, i don't know much about it, same as Anthem the EBXs can not be de-serialized either with current or old scripts, no clue when or who if ever will make support for the format.kaliope wrote:Wed Feb 23, 2022 6:49 pm...Do you have any idea how to transform the BF2042 ebx files into something reabable like txt or xml counterparts? My python script from BFV doesn't work (as expected) and I don't know if there is another solution out there.
With that being said, if anyone that would consider support after all would be on below GitHub by Nicknine user who happens to be in this forum as well, you could make a issue and post there, even a sample if you want, your choice:

Working on terrains.
Frostbite terrains use different level of detail for each square.
You can see here how it looks. Each of these squares (from biggest to smallest) is 128x128 height map.
