Yeah, that's what they're designed for, but I have no idea how the game engine determines that they are LOD models at all, or at what distance they should be shown. That's the bizarre thing I'm trying to work out. There are several unknown flags fields, however I've found both high-poly and low-poly models that have the same flags.

I think what it might be is that hitboxes toggle on and off certain parts, at which point it's super difficult to filter out "only the high-poly models"

mtd was off the top of my head haha, msb is indeed the file I was thinking of. I see. There must be some kind of way to discern the LOD meshes... Please share if you find a solution!

@Snaz

Thanks a lot for your work, you rock !

Everything seems to work fine for me except one thing

I can see the flver in Noesis without problem:
Image

I can see the animation of the Skeleton in Noesis also:
Image

But I cannot seem to find a way to connect the 3d mesh to the animation skeleton
Is there a way to see the animation with the mesn in Noesis ?

Or a way to link the FBX animation exported to the FBX mesh exported.
I feel I missed a skinning part no ?

@Snaz

I have a last little problem :] Maybe you can help, i can't merge the 4 part of the armor and then apply the animation on it

Here is what I can do:
With your tools we can extract every piece of an Armor of Dark Souls
If we extract the right flver with the Skeleton-out in the directory and we import it in 3DS Max we see the Skeleton with the piece of armor, here the BP of 9570

Image

If we add the animation to the BP, it works <-- good !

BUT is there a way to merge the 4 parts of the Armor in one file and then apply the animation ?

I am sure it's possible but I don't know how
DSMODT http://www.rivernyxx.com/ does it when you click on COSPLAY

For some reason, the .anibnd.dcx file for c5200 can't be extracted using Gibbed.DarkSouls.Unbind.exe
This tool works on almost every other anibnd.dcx file.

Here's the .anibnd file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o172g37vzqyhm ... d.dcx?dl=0

Here's the Gibbed.DarkSouls file (includes Gibbed.DarkSouls.Unbind.exe): https://www.dropbox.com/s/u1cyks13l8v7n ... r.zip?dl=0

Thanks for the help snaz. I've tried opening c0000.flver with the noesis script, but it displayed an error. Here's the file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhdebflj8r84i ... flver?dl=0

This is the error displayed: Image
Is there anyway to fix it?

Snaz suggested to check the scale in the flver py script and in 3dsmax.
Where's the point you can't follow?

that's kinda funny - since you're working with all that stuff, Noesis, 3dsmax and so on.

Anyways:
here's the line in the flver python script for Noesis to deal with:
SCALE = 1000
