Re: Alien Isolation (.PAK .BIN)

Sorry Blender 2.8 is a completely new blender, they changed everything, including plugins. You'll have to use blender 2.79

Re: Watch Dogs XBG models

no there's no way to recover from that problem. you need to move the extracted files to a folder in the root of the drive with a short name, I usually name a folder 'x' and move extracted stuff there.

UTF errors I know nothing about. maybe a problem with your windows character set.

Re: Watch Dogs XBG models

yeah there was some code about skeletons but it's unused. I copy over a lot of code at the start of every project in case I need it. that was part of that boilerplate code. As for your error, you need to move the files to a directory in the root, the filepath is much too long for it to handle, Pytho...

Re: Alien Isolation (.PAK .BIN)

I haven't done anything with them. For me it's mostly the challenge of figuring out extraction and learning how the game engines work. However I do know a guy who made some kind of multiplayer map out of one the levels. he sent me a link years ago but I don't seem to have it anymore. Edit: found it ...

Re: Alien Isolation (.PAK .BIN)

Oh and do you happen to know whether someone managed to convert all dds to some readable format? I am using texconv.exe as well as texgenpack.exe in order to convert the textures. However for some teytures both tools wont work, expecially the files in "normal" and "normal_tiled"...

Re: Alien Isolation (.PAK .BIN)

Not to my knowledge, no. But anyone is welome to try. I think I released the source code to the hkx converter some time ago. Here's a link to the repository. It has some 'hints' about the animation format, but there's still a ton of work to do. https://bitbucket.org/Volfin/hkx2smd/ https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Northlight Tool (also known as "The Alan Wake Engine")

do you intend to create a blender exporter too? to control like I said above, the format is far too complex, and there's a lot of aspects I haven't even explored. every model i'm pretty sure has a corresponding *.binpx file with a whole lot of data about it and you'd probably have to re-write that ...

Monday on Discord he said Dropbox blocks the download for a day when too many download it. So maybe try again in 24 hours.

Re: Northlight Tool (also known as "The Alan Wake Engine")

it's no problem, I appreciate you letting me know. It's the same problem as last time, just in a new form. always some edge case :) Also I'm glad you mentioned about 'black faces' and normals, I had fixed the models being inside out in 1.0, and then 1.1 I realized models were flipped on the X Axis, ...

Re: Northlight Tool (also known as "The Alan Wake Engine")

hi thanks for the plugin. but how we edit and export the models??? I'm guessing you mean re-import the models back to the game. I don't know nearly enough about the model format to even attempt that. it's a very complicated format and I figured out enough to get the models out, that's it. Maybe som...

Re: Northlight Tool (also known as "The Alan Wake Engine")

this doesn't work for Quantum Break, only for Control. Quantum break uses a completely different model format. You can try the quantum break importer I did some years ago that's here (for blender 2.70 to 2.79 only): https://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14195&start=60#p126811 But I'v...
