Download the new version (released today!) and email me for a serial code, Sajad. Then try again. I think the script is not working. I will need to take a look at it.

Correction: it seems to work fine.

Please use the new version of Multiex Commander... http://multiex.xentax.com

Correction 2: this format can't do import, although there's the ImpType Standard. There's not enough info.

Driv3r PS2 Opening DRIVER3.IMG archive file for sounds and m

Post by gamehead »

hi i'm trying to open a Game archive File it is the DRIVER3.IMG file on the PS2 Game Driv3r. Please note that I legally own this copy of this game and all I want to do is open this file and look inside for audio and music files and anything else cool. Im trying to extract the soundtrack and the sound effects and anything else cool from the PS2 game Driv3r (Driver 3) but I'm faced with about 5-6 files on the disc with a single large file on the disc named DRIVER3.IMG. I am trying to open this file and view its contents. windows shows it as a psudoarchive or something. the file is 3-4 gigs in size and can be found on the PS2 version of Driv3r. All I want to do is listen to the music and sound effects like the sound zones like in istanbul the singing churches and the disco club from Driv3r on my iPod w/o resorting to recording via the line out cables b/c I don't do game music that way. I have found a program called Game extractor but that program is unable to open the archive, it says no plugins exist for this archive so if anyone has that plugin or a link to one that would be awesome. any help that you can provide will be most useful and thank you very much I appreciate you taking the time to read this. :?:

If you can use a filecutter to have us take a look at pieces of those large files, that would help. Check http://www.xentax.com for the tools pack that includes the FileCutter.

I tried that set of programs and it still does the same thing I load up the file where it says select file to cut and I browse to where I have the IMG file then i go to the output part and I've tried all of the snippit settings all of them give me this little blank message with nothing on it and an OK button and windows doinks at me. it does this twice then thats it and it doesnt spit out the file into the folder ive requested. I have copied the DRIVER3.IMG file to my HD so im not trying to do it from the game disc. whats going on with filecutter? Thanks.

Ok, I'll see if I can take a look at this later. How many bytes large are all the IMG files?

the below pic is whats in the modules folder

if these images take up too much bandwidth
I can replace them with just the URLs.

Here is another shot of the IRX file folder in a different view if that helps anything:Image
As you can see in the above pic theres another IMG file in there, IOPRP280.IMG. Im hoping this is like a reference or binary file that tells the PS2 where the resources are in the DRIVER3.IMG file.
I can email this file to someone to take a look at maybe someone knows what this is and if it has any relations to the DRIVER3.IMG file. all I need is an email address to send to. I dont know how else to send the larger img file and filecutter isnt working for me for some reason.
