If working with UV mapping is so hard, there is a simple solution. Stop trying to run up a mountain and learn to walk first.. this is obviously WAY over your head, so go back to basics. Read the manual for whatever program you have and learn how to work with UV mapping better. THEN when you have more experience try using it on something like this.

"I want to be a boxer, so rather than learning how to box and then fight some little guys first, im just gonna jump right in and pick a fight with mike tyson"
Thats a dumb idea... Learn to walk before you learn to run. UV mapping isnt hard to do, you just need practice/ experience and thats something you DO NOT have yet.
Yes! i know that's what i said... But its not what i meant. ;)

LOL at the bold sentence!
Yeah, pretty much agreed this.
Mapping lots of stuff is not easy, but fuck that, no anything is easy!
I want to slaught dragons but I don't have any weapon and can't buy them don't know.
So I just go straight and find that damned dragon telling that animal to fuck off

So I've been playing around with some models, using LOD0 from FM4 with other LODS from FM3. After readjusting the mapping on the FM4 LOD0 mesh, I though I might try transfer UV mapping from FM3 LOD0 to FM4 LOD0.
I did this and all was fine, until I exported. Then the bad normals from FM3 LOD0 meshes appeared. But if I remap manually they don't.

So it seems that the bad normals from FM3 LOD0 have something to do with the UV Mapping? I don't know, just putting this info out there incase the same issue comes up in FM4 Studio if any more is done to it.

Hey there everyone!

Apologies in advance if this question has already been answered before and I wasn't able to find it in the 82 pages of posts here...

How do you guys get the UV Maps into 3ds Max? I converted a model of FM4 and there were no UV Maps. Or does it only work on FM3 models? Would be great if someone could point me towards the right direction...

Cheers!

You have to have some knowledge in 3d max to be able to edit the UV, the main feature you must use is in "modifiers" » "uvcoordinates" » "unwrap UVW"

You have a lot of toturials in youtube etc....
