i'm afraid each exe generates its own hashcodes for some files, while others are common. for example, i guess we all have C583C423C24C2B5B which is an island sector, but from chipacao's list i don't have FEDC084A0CBBBCBC "euro/shaders/edrender_pfx_blur.sob", and i don't in fact have any of the shader files included in his log file. so this method is not the best as it will only work on the game of the one who made the logfile? i renamed everything too but there's still about 2993 files that need to be done, after using my own filelist.log it renamed another 500 files.

so, any ideas on the unique hashnames?

@toolieo that's all I did, renamed them and moved them in the game folder. But I used the cmd commands to rename the files.

@vagos21 That can't be because we're all using the same exe, the one from qwerty. And it doesn't matter if you don't have any shader hashes, the files don't exist in the .big archives anyway.
That's actually how I realized moving the extracted files in the euro folder should work, because all shader files are already there. Have you tried that yet?

Ah see I didn't use Qwerty's .exe because I want to remain online as I brought the game and would like to keep it that way for sometime. :P Anyways thanks for the info.

i just tried it, using qwerty's cmd and with my exe, in both cases the game crashes to desktop while loading the main menu, not even before loading the game. i guess there's something important in those 2500 files not renamed yet, but funny thing they're not in anyone's log file, not even mine...!

@toolieo That's strange, why would the cracked exe work differently in this regard? It's only supposed to remove activation protection, isn't it? Btw, I tried running the partially unpacked game with the latest Skidrow crack and it works.
One more thing I forgot to mention, I also removed the map and big files added by updates (TDU2v082/83/86). Could you please try again?

@vagos21 One quick way to check if we have the same hashes would be for you to rename all your bins with my filelist.log and see if you get 6158 files.
Try removing the update files I mentioned, that could be the issue.

@chipicao, YES!!! it was the update big and map files that caused the crash, i deleted them too and now it's loading and driving nicely (until it meets an unknown hash i guess haha)

so, what are we after now? here's a modified prog i'd made a few weeks ago that lists all the filenames that are included in a bin file (only if it's a bnk), so anyone can use it to see what's in these remaining mystery bin files, and get an idea of what we're missing. give it a shot! took almost a min to analyse all 2500 bin files on my system.

2500 is too much, I'm gonna keep playing the parts I know I haven't logged yet. After that we should only have a couple hundred unknown bins and we'' analyze those to see what's missing.
TODO
- view cars in all camera modes to laod gauges
- chase cops
- radio songs and commercials - one radio station done
- med care files
- rim files - done
- racing school licenses and cars
- russian language
- female character (speech and clothes); does anyone know if you have to view all clothes or is it enough to just enter the shop?
- events (championships, duels, instant challenge, random characters, treasure hunt, photographs...)
- Clubs - I can't go into clubs
- Casino - there's a room I can't access, and also 3 prizes (clothes, furniture and stickers)

we also need to switch all cameras in a car so it will load plenty of files like

which i suppose contain the needles and dashboards for places like bonnet cameras :D

Yeah, forgot about those, thanks!

I think the horn sound is loaded automatically along with other car sounds (engine, door open/close, windows up/down...) when you enter the car. I remember testing that but I'm not 100% sure.

EDIT: I started the game and drove a few cars (including the Audi S5) with all cameras activated. No new hashes were generated, I already had all gauges or needles just by entering cars in the dealer. But it's weird that EC5C1024A8147B90 is nowhere to be found in my list of hashes, yet it seems to contain relevant car files...

maybe unused files? this game's a huge mess, there are duplicated files inside bnks too, especially some widely used textures. what a headache... i wonder what's in your bin leftovers!

Scratch that, I didn't filter the hashes properly. Excel is driving me nuts, any other way to remove duplicate lines?

i don't remove or filter duplicate lines, i just keep my whole log and rename with the program, which just drops the files that have already been renamed, and i noticed qwerty's cmd does the exactly same thing.


it sounded like a good exercise though, so here's another little tool that will do it for you in a few seconds. will take any log file and keep only unique filenames ;) you can then save them to a new text file.

I'm not talking about a crack, I own the game so I have the original .exe :)

I also removed the updates and did it again and still crashes. I hope in the future when all this gets finished etc that there is a TDU2 Tool that does all this to save most people. :lol:

I know, I was saying it's strange the crack allows you to run the game unpacked while the original exe doesn't.
