Okay, I have released 4.0.1 (that fixes that bug)

You will still have to replace the mr.mrf to the one I show here.

I will also split this thread, because this talk is more something for the Troubleshooting area.

Ah the battle to extract BOTF music still continues after years of discussion and MultiEx is the closest to view and listen clearly some of the files.

The method you just posted quite a few weeks ago does play the sfx.snd, but any luck with music.snd?

paulus was right that in the english.snd file lists the files but the auto-preview displays text.

In old discussions in BOTF forums, some people managed to listen the music file, not extracting it though but the playback is all fizzy/noisy but still you can here the quiet but delightful music at the background.

hi guys,
i managed to get the music file to open up and play using awave v4.8 (anawave v4.8)

it's the music alright, but it's all got hiss in teh background and noise - im trying to convert it to other types of au file or wav file, - hopefully one of those versions will work

will also try with goldwave on tons of settings to see which one works.

so far, the types of settings can be a conbination of at least the following:

.AU: Audio file (Sun/NeXT/DEC)

Features:

8 / 16 / 24 / 32 bits / m-law / A-law / CCITT G.721 (4bits) & G.723 (3,5bits) ADPCM / IEEE FP (32, 64bits) FP encodings and compressions, mono / stereo.

Unsupported features:

> 2 channel files.
Other compression schemes.
Prehaps this can help for those wanting to listen to the music file...

Oh right lol

I think for the time being, I'm going to record the sound music while playing the game from my sound card without using a microphone and edit it so I can get a nice playback music.

Hi mister mouse,
i just tried this new quickfix updated version from the announcement, but now it says list file possibly empty when i try sfx.snd and i can seem to open the music.snd one anymore either :(

if its any help, when i used the "check web for new version", it found a new mrf file which overwrote the one you sent me to try which worked. would this be an issue?

kind regards,
paulus
