What's wrong :?
That pic alread explained and you dont know?

The model you try to import has more vertices than it's allowed.
You reached the limit of max allowed vertices.

You must delete material (Coloreffectr224g86...) from body.

Sorry but can you noobs stopping hijacking this thread with your baby Questions please?

You don't help anything, no you even read NOTHING here just ask all things 1000 times in a row... again and again.

Sorry if you can't assign simple textures to a model you should first learn how 3ds max or whatever you using works and please stop asking these dumb ass questions :(

toolieo wrote: Is this a possible chance why file size is also high? Cause even on the most simple LOD 1 etc the file size is pretty high, LOD1 models are close to NFS Shift car poly counts and its far too high.
Just gotta learn how to do that in 3ds max now..
Hi toolio (i know you better as tool831) Yes thats a very good reason why the file sizes are bigger, well 2 reasons really but THAT is the main one.. If you think about it, you getting more polygons than you need. i looked at the first car in the list last night, its an ACU_15_ARX01b_08. In the lod1 of the body its made up of about 30,000ish polygons and there is an extra 4000 non planar 2 point polygons ( thats just in the bodywork. you still have the interior ( which also has non planar's) as well as the other objects. so yeah they are all being made slightly bigger than they should be. The second reason, you should notice this one as you save and reload the object into ( max did you say? ) as we all know most of the body parts are on separate layers ( such as the wheel arch is separate to the front wing) etc. once you start joining those parts together together, so you end up with a more complete solid body as you join those parts the end rows of each part joins ( kinda obvious ) which also optimizes the model because those end rows of polygons, each have points so when you merge those points together it removes half of them because two becomes one when you merge.
( i hope that last bit about merging parts made sense, i was aware i was rambling slightly :D )

In regards on how to do it in max. i really don't have a clue , i only have max as a converter for Max files and 3dripper files. i do all my stuff in lightwave. you might have something similar to what we have. i called up a polygon stats window, it basically just shows how many 3 point poly's, 4 point ,>4 point and non planar, from that i can just select all the non planar and delete them, im sure max must have some way of selecting non planar polygons... sounds silly, but have you tried the help manual ?
Yes! i know that's what i said... But its not what i meant. ;)

@Nobby: (Won't quote too much :P ) Yeah I understood about merging etc, I did decide to get Lightwave now. Seeing you have said you have it easier now I must say getting rid of all those. :)

Hopefully Ernegien can make the forza studio not have non-Planar polys etc, would be easy for most.

Sorry for going offtopic again. You probably should update the first post so these newbies' questions wouldn't be asked anymore.

my way of importing to ZM:
import to MAX (@OBJ import dialogue, untick the "OBJ Smoothing Groups) option
export to 2DS
import to ZModeler 1.0.7
save as Z3D
open in ZModeler 2, and start working (this actually works with even unregistered versions of ZModeler2)

so far, it worked on ALL meshes.

again, sorry for going off topic.

Also, is it just me, or anyone else noticed some flipped polygons after importing?

I Imported the Mesh into 3DS Max 2011, Exported as FBX into Maya, selected all Ojects and run Mesh -> Cleanup ...

Exported as Open Collada Imported into Max and now I can convert to Editable Poly and play around without any Errors.

Look I "played" and all is right:

Hi, sorry for my newbie question but I understood all the procedure except from one thing. How you can see the content of the XBOX's DVD?

So far I was working with the files available here in this thread. Yesterday I went to loan the DVD of Forza3 and took it to a friend of mine so he copy it into an image file and write in my USB stick. When I got home, I copy it in my pc and tried to open the iso file with DTools. The iso file is about 7GB but in the DVD content there is VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS empty folders and another one folder of 90MB.

Thank you in advance.
