Re: FF 13 3D models ripping possible ...
if that fails, then you need to download the windows compiler, and compile a new EXE for your system.
mine was built under windowsXP SP3 32bit
edit
by the way, just a tip; but what I did to surf through the content was:
1. created a batch script to convert EVERYTHING
2. Installed a basic OBJ viewer
then I could just double click on whatever OBJ and instantly find out where everything was... instead of importing one by one into blender or max. that seems to take way more time O_o

Re: FF 13 3D models ripping possible ...
I'm not sure how people are getting textures from the game actually. and it may be hush hush if its using an 360 sdk tool. but otherwise the last person I asked, pointed in the way of a PSP tool.. which don't make sense.
personally I just used a hex editor, and my original unswizzle scripts I designed for PaintshopPro.
I didnt care to figure out how the texture dump file was indexed, so i just jumped to each fresh area of bytes after the padding bytes used.. c0 or c1 or cc something they used for padding
it was no picnic, so you might want to beg borrow and steal a tool off someone

Once you have all the textures and models extracted how do you get the textures to display on the model in 3ds max? I keep just getting gray, green, and pink metallic colors only. I'm sure I must be missing something really obvious.
I've got a .dae file and a bunch of .dds and pngs.

Re: FF 13 3D models ripping possible ...
I would also like to know how to convert the textures if it's possible.
Re: FF 13 3D models ripping possible ...
First find a tool called mesh2rdm. You can just google it, it's pretty easy to find.
Then put the mesh2rdm.exe in the same folder with the trb and imgb file. Create a bat file with something like this in it:
"mesh2rdm input-file-name.trb output-file-name.dae -daeout" After you run that you will get a .dae file and a bunch of .dds and .png files.
All thanks goes to nathen41.

Re: FF 13 3D models ripping possible ...
I do it a quicker way than that:
I open the green texture in photoshop, lets use Hope for this example. That texture is trbtex0015.
Once its open, use the eyedropper tool and select the purple background.
Then, right click on the eraser and select background eraser.
Make sure that the colour you just picked at the back of the colour box, and white at the front.
Then just erase, and watch as the purple is erased leaving the rest of the image.
Do this for all the shades of purple, and you'll get good looking alpha channels.
