I guess you guys aren't the friendly helpful type huh? No problem, I can understand your disdain for noobs, I'll quietly f**k off and try and find the info for myself. Thanks for not helpin'Diatribal wrote:I was wondering myself (as an owner of the original game disc with a backup on the xbox's HDD) if the Datel Xport would be a useful tool to help me find the .carbin files? Otherwise I can't work out how you obtain these files?

when i try to import in 3d simed it hangs and eventually i get message: Problem building geometrysommergemuese wrote:If someone is interested...
3D SimEd is fully working without any Smoothing Problems if you Export from Max with Open Collada This means we can get the models in other Games
( http://www.opencollada.net )
Not Autodesk FBX Collada!!!!
Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)
epic fail form my side, sorrysommergemuese wrote:You installed Open Collada before and Exported as OPEN Collada too?
Max chooses FBX Collada as standard
Thanks!

Though as much as that does work, loads smooth etc. When trying to convert into either a Rfactor or GTR2 etc format. 3dsSimEd needs to cut out vertices as the games have limits.sommergemuese wrote:If someone is interested...

Example: The Aston one-77 has 82842 vertices and Rfactor can only use 65535 vertices, the result is a really horrible basically half the model is gone.
Only chance getting it to any GTR2, Rfactor, Or even TDU which I need, GTR Evo, NFS Shift etc would be Zmodeler. That would be the only way. However these carry the body issue's to zmodeler, as I have shown in images.
That problem is annoying..

ajmiles wrote: I think this was a fluke caused by the differing endianness. I've got this for the nodamage_lod0 texture on that Ferrari. It wouldn't surprise me now if the liveries for the race cars are done using the same 'livery' tools that the players use in game and that there aren't any textures.
Sorry if I ask again and again and again but are you sure that you deswizzled this Texture complete?
Reason is this:
You can see a part of the livery, Leaseplan Advert and you can see the blue pixels around that, which comes from the Livery Color for sure.
Here unedited:
Here that you can read it better:
But on the other side I could be very wrong there's no Mapping where the Logo is.

Update:
I found some more evidences *g+
On the Top Left Corner you can see Blue Color, the Round Thing has Blue Pixels around, Next to the Ferrari Horse you can see a blue Stripe.
Blue Color is Matching:

My "Forza Tool" wireframe (In Deep Exploration):

Not until I can get something written that uses only code written by me / people whose permission I have to use their source code.Veegie wrote:ajmiles, would you be willing to share your current source for the textures?
sommergemuese: The race cars can't be painted (except maybe with extra decals?) therefore the texture is free to be outlined in blue. I imagine that particular logo was deemed to difficult to make using the decal system so they just made it part of the texture. I'm very confident that the textures I've shown are exactly what's supposed to be there.

Good luck!

If you try to paint the car or apply your own decals, it clears the car completely of the racing livery design and you start with a blank canvas.
