I obviously don't post much, but I been here for a while. Last time I was active though, it was figured how to pull the models from HCTP and put them on stuff like Poser, were the textures from that ever found?

@zurick, good to see you on these forums as well. The hctp textures are extractable using rrunpack to unpack the pac files and then using rtxexplorer to extract the textures. Both apps are on this forum, you just have to look for it.

Brilliant job! Sorry for my slow routine to preview the Alpha ( ). Great tutorial.

Mr.Mouse, thanks for the tool. After following FatalArms video tutorial, I noticed that when I tried using a Cactus Jack shirt logo that the image got mirrored in PTExplorer v0.1.6 so the text stayed mirrored in the game as well. I may have missed the mention of this happening before but I just wanted to pass it along just in case.

Also for anyone running Windows 7 64 Bit, you will get an error that the Comdlg32.ocx is missing when trying to start PTExplorer. I was able to figure out how to fix it using this topic

http://www.vistax64.com/vista-general/1 ... 2-ocx.html

Just make sure put the file in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 like mentioned a little further down and register it correctly corresponding to the directory C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

Yeah, I did mention that in the "more info" tab on the video. I should've flipped the image in Paint.net before saving. Would've made the tutorial a wee bit more accurate.

If you flip it vertically, I think you'll find the image works fine in-game.

can someone explain me step by step how to make an alpha map ??

wouldnt it be easier if you can choose first the main and then the alpha texture for the next pte tool update ?

thanx :)

The next update you can at least save and load only the alpha values.

Look, what you should do is chose a colour that will be fully transparent. Mostly this is colour 0 (make it black or something). Then whenever you wish parts of the picture to be fully transparent, you draw with this colour.

If you load it up in PTE you select colour 0 in the palette and manually set the alpha value (see Active Colour box) to 0 (0 opacity = 100% transparent). The next PTE will also have the Set All Alpha option, to quicly set all alpha to a certain value.

Oooh, you're working on a new version? Can I suggest adding a "flip pic" option in case you import one and it shows upside down?

When trying to install and open PTExplorer, any version, I get a ERROR MESSAGE. On Widnows 7, it says Component "MSCOMCTL.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered, a file is missing or invalid. When I download the file and place it in either system or system 32 folders, and then register it, I get another error message. Any ideas?

The module "mscomct.ocx" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found
