I "guess" the priority is given by the filename and so 0.ttarch is read before 0_monkeyisland101_pc_launcheronly.ttarch.
indeed initially I called it 5.ttarch and it didn't work

Normally I would thought that the first readed files into the "0.ttrach" would be overwrite by the afterwards readed archive like "4_MonkeyIsland101_pc_tx.ttarch" !??!

But it works with "0.ttrach", so its indifferent for me ^^

Normally in Telltale games, the font files are similar to the DXTC files, in that they are dds images with an additional header.
Assuming this is still the case for TMI (I haven't checked) you should be able to use a hex editor to extract the dds, edit it and put it back.

I think its not dxtc file.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

The DDS header is at offset 5343 in that file.

So,
I try it too

I'm German and we need seven letters more (Ä,Ü,Ö,ä,ü,ö.ß) Image

To find out which symbol from the .dds would read for the german special letter I edit the ".dds" with collored signs
Image

So far so good,
I convert it back to the ".ttrach" archive, but all german letters (of course different letter, that I changed at the langdb file) was ALL show like the edited 1 from the ".dds" file (Ingame)

Someone ne Idee ?

The Hex-Code for the letters are:
C4 = Ä (A with dots)
E4 = ä (a with dots)
DC = Ü (U with dots)
FC =ü (u with dots)
D6 =Ö (O with dots)
F6 = ö (o with dots)
DF = ß (spezial letter called "ES-ZET")

If someone know the HEX-Code for the other edited signs (place at the .dds graphic)
Please tell me ^^
Then I can use this place for the German letters

EDIT:
-----------------------------
I got it
remember to myself, first use your mind ^^

So, here is the Code
based on the edited pic

pic sign = hex-code

1 = shows ingame if a unknown Hex-Code at the langdb was found
2 = 5B
3 = 5C
4 = 5D
5 = 7B
6 = 7C
7 = 7D
8 = 7F
9 = 80
a = 81
b = 84
c = 85
d = 86
e = 87
f = 89
g = 8A
h = 8.D (No dot between, but else the forum make a smile out of then " 8D ")
i = 8E
j = 8F
k = 90
l = 95
m = 9A
n = 9D
o = 9E
p = A4
q = A6
r = A7

NEXT Problem :cry:

Its just a blemish but maybe someone had ne Idde

So,
I changed the free signs fields at the font .dds
With the capitals letters, no ptobleme

but the lower case version make some probleme with the size
there to much free place on the sides.

(Ingame its look like its a half space infront and after the letter)

Here a example:
Image

Now I search the file where the coordinates for this invisible border (in pic blue border) was saved.

I know, I can simple change the size of the letter but its look a bit weird Ingame

So I thought the coordinates where at the insulated header, but I doesn't found nothing thats look like coordinates for the letters.

Maybe someone of you guys find something

Hello, I need some help repacking a translated english.langdb of Monkey Island Episode 1

I have successfully unpacked 1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch and modified english.langdb with a text editor. I have tried to repack 1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch with the modified .langdb and the game crashes. I also tried to create a new 0.ttarch file and game stills crashing. If i put the original 1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch or remove new 0.ttarch game works fine. Any idea why or what I'm doing wrong?

@TavoT

Did you change the textlength controll number too ? (at the langdb)
!!! Important !!!

If you don't did this ToMI crash on gamestart or doesn't show any ingame text (If the Game start).

Exception, your translated text has the same textlength like the original English Text !

To which language do you want translate the game ?

Thanks for the replys...

@Bugcode: Yes, that's exactly the command I've used. I've been following all of your instructions, you really know what you are doing :D

@Shippuden: I have a group of friends making a spanish translation. Where in the langdb file is the textlenght control and how do I change it? I'm sure this is the cause of the crashing... I didn't change it.

EDIT: I've just tried to change just one word, same lenght, repacked a new 0.ttarch file and game crashes. But then i've repacked the full file 1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch and worked!

Just need to know how to change the textlenght control

Whats kind of editor did you use ?
With a normal Editor or notepad++ I had some problems.
I am work with the German version of this tool.

Its are the small freeware Hex-Editor called "HxD"
Here are the spanish version http://mh-nexus.de/downloads/HxDSetupES.zip

Use the original langdb (without changes)
And than,
at first try to edit just one letter at the game menu like "Save & Load" on line 22 at the "HxD"
For example, change the " & " to nen " a " (just first try)

Nen other question, did the rebuild work with the original langdb or did it crash there too ?
Did you rebuild all data from the "1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch" or such the "english.langdb" ?
If the test where possible (and the Game start with the small menu change)
I explain (next time) where the new textlength must be write

At the first try this ^^

Sorry for my awful english gramma
But my spanish is even worse ^^

EDIT:
---------------------------------------------------------
Ups ^^
You had successful change a word with the same textlength ^^

Ok I try to make a screenshoot that explain where you must change the textlength ^^

One moment ......
Here is it...
Image
So, that should explain all^^

Have fun ^^
Its a lot of work
The German Version is also at the beginning
Its to much Text

2461 dialogs or menu/objekt lettering
TO MUCH..... :cry:

Yours sincerely

I've used EditPlus for editing the .langdb

Changed "New Game" for "Nuevo..." (dots used to leave it same lenght) as you can see here

Image

Worked when I unpacked 1_MonkeyIsland101_pc_data.ttarch, replaced english.langdb with the modified one and then repacked the full file again.

Thanks for your help!
