cutting tool or program

ive got a full map from a game and i want to cut around a object to save it so is there a tool or program whats best for this thx what all you use thx

is that question about modelling? is the map an entire mesh or multiple meshes. i mean basicly you can boil it down to editing the mesh, deleting geometry until only the parts that you want are left.

what it is ive got a map what ive turned into a obj and the map is surrounded in a box the object is inside im trying to cut the sides and top away so i can see the object i want and then il save it

You must have that game map already imported in a 3D software I assume right?
If not, just use 3dsMax or Blender and select those polys you want to delete and that's it.
