It is!. I tried reversing with the tools I found but no luck. The racing game has been stopped for years. Now I'm busy finishing a tank game, If I succeed enough I'll try to revive the wangan series project.Automotive Gaming wrote:Is that an addon map for ETS2? I use JGSME & Content Manager with:
NGM 3.5 mod by ears1991.
Natural (kunos) or Natural Photomode HC PPfilters "slightly tweaked".
Good and bad conditions weather by Peter Boese
You can found all of them on Racedepartement.

There is a night version of C1, I was rather impressed, search for 'assetto corsa c1' in youtube and look for videos uploaded in last week/month. You should somewhere find a file called c1-midnight_for_ac18.zip in youtube's comments.

Seems like many are using Real Life Weather 2.1.4 or aura pp filter with the night version of C1.
There is a night version of C1, I was rather impressed, search for 'assetto corsa c1' in youtube and look for videos uploaded in last week/month. You should somewhere find a file called c1-midnight_for_ac18.zip in youtube's comments.

I found a game a while ago which contains parts of the Japanese Expressway that we don't have yet, Battle gear 4. I know that this topic is about Wangan Midnight PS3 but nonetheless i felt it would be right to post in here.
This game is only for arcade but fortunately, as it was designed for Windows, it works perfectly well on home PCs. So i tried my hand at analyzing the files and found out this game uses a similar 3D structure as GTA San Andreas. It might not be so difficult to reverse.
Car textures are stored in .txd format which can be normally viewed and exported with TXD Workshop.
For 3D, when the file extension is renamed from .rws to .dff, ZModeler imports car files, but without texture coords, normals and the model is completely black.
3DS Max with the KAM's script doesn't even want to import.
For the maps, though, nor ZModeler nor 3DS Max don't budge.
They are in the same format (.rws) but with textures integrated in the file.

As a last resort i hoped for 3D Ripper DX or Ninja Ripper to do their job but nope.
It would be nice to have some more parts of the Japanese Expressway in 3D, especially because parts of the code for importers are already written by other people.

You're wrong about the missing UV's though, everything is there, you just need to extract the textures first and use something else than Zmodeler2 (after resaving the imported DFF into something else). I personally prefer using Zmodeler1. Some materials might be set as black, so just recolor them to white.
