I don't think this is the right place to ask, but that aside, anything related to the PS2 or generally console ripping with 'forced tools' other then actual tools will give your weird results.

Did you try rendering the models with the normals maps applied and with a smooth group of 1? Believe it or not, some models do not have smooth groups at all other then a single channel. The normal map is the thing that is doing all the work. Just take a look at some of the Doom inorganic models. Not...
