Re: Dark Cloudfiles; looking into them and extracting/openin

OK, I figured out why the files I had were empty.

Ready?

It was because I forgot to get the data.dat file from the game as well.

*FACEPALM*

I assure you, this time, ALL of the bytes are there.

Re: Dark Cloudfiles; looking into them and extracting/openin

Found files that actually have stuff in them! They are labeled ".mds" And are in folders usually labeled with the character's name. *Facepalm* Do you want a sample of these Chrrox?

Dark Cloudfiles; looking into them and extracting/opening

So, I recently found an extractor for Dark Cloud, a game for the PS2 released back in 2001. I realized the files in the characters folder have the .chr format; but 3DS 2010 can't open them. I want these open! I'm assuming they use some sort of compression, but that is a mystery to me for now. There ...

Re: Unpacking models from a game?

COOL12345, the unpacker is done when it crashes, right? And thank you. Unpacker should not crash, However the extracted .STM seems to have folders embedded into the file, I have not yet found a flag which defines folders or which files are going in them, it's really inconsistent but i don't know fo...

Re: Unpacking models from a game?

Sorry to intrude here but, did this archive structure ever get figured out? I'm looking through the game's files myself, mainly for the backing tracks for the songs. I also seriously hope they are streams and not in the complicated psf2 format. Sorry, I haven't had the time to look through it, and ...

Re: LZSS Compression?

A question, what programming language is this? while InputPos < InputSize do begin FlagByte := Input[InputPos++] for i := 1 to 8 do begin if (FlagByte and 1) = 0 then begin OfsLen := Input[InputPos] + Input[InputPos + 1] shl 8 InputPos += 2 if OfsLen = 0 then Exit; Length := OfsLen and LengthMask + ...

Re: LZSS Compression?

Well, that's extremely useful, thank you, but I don't know any of the parameters. I'll have to look through the files again and look for similarities.
Edit: The second link on the wiki doesn't work.

LZSS Compression?

I'm looking into making a program that opens and allows editing of the .FSYS files from Pokémon Colosseum. The compression, LZSS, is confusing and I can't make heads or tails of it. Any help would be awesome.

.FSYS LZSS Compress

Hi, I'm new. I need a little help. I'm trying to write a program that will open all formats of .FSYS files. (Found in PBR, PC, and XD)
They are LZSS compressed, and I'm having TONS of trouble looking for similarities while it's compressed. I'm a HUGE n00b, so you can treat me like one...

Can you cut the first 25MB and upload?
Most likely.
Edit: Okay, so most of that is text for talking and singing. (Yes, they sing in this game) It's going to take a while to cut out. I'll have it up by tomorrow.

Re: Unpacking models from a game?

If you can't make any sense of it then you'd have to do some real work. This is what you need to do next. I don't get what you mean... Upload the file and PM me the link i will have a quick look, do not post it on here as you may get in trouble for it.[/quote] All right... I already looked through ...
