Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)
Also will all porblems be fixed in future releases, such as normals. And also the rims dont seem to map the textures. I'm well aware of both of these issues. Normals really aren't a problem since they are correct to the pre-existing geometry that the developers used before importing the models into...

Okay but you can't do much without this tool... And sorry that I don't post a step by step Tutorial... Howto: Open one Texture you like with a Hex Editor. Insert 60 Bytes at the beginning and Drop the Attached Header there. Go to Offset 0x8 and Change the 6 Bytes to the Filesize WITH the 60 Extra B...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)
What about downloading the Free 30 Day Demo from Autodesk.com and not using Pirated Versions? 3DS Max 2011 is the recent Version and working. 3DS Max 7 is not working. Don't ask me why, I think there is something wrong with the Forza Studio. We will see if this will be fixed ;) How do I download 3D...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)
Yeah, sorry about that. It's caused by a difference in string cultures where compared to North America, Europe seems to swap commas with periods for numerical values. Sommergemuese released a temporary fix earlier in the thread that you can use until I go back and fix it in my version... Still the ...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)
the reason it looks good in games and some editors is because of the vertex normals in the file which hides the actual geometry's uneven surface. you can think of it as game fakery. That's fine with me :P. Honestly, I don't think it will be very feasible to try and recover any lost precision throug...

Older than GTA IV uses .txd files.
You could try the TXD Editor.

Amazing how you guys succeeded to import these models. Finally a gamecompany thats not acting like a pu*** and softy about the polycounts. Much better than EA and TDU. Too smooth models. Wasting around an half year. But atleast I know 3D modeling/editting. Energien, your job is fucking amazing! So t...

Re: GTA IV LZX compression on resource data
So the xbox360 gets the files with x at begin.
Like .xft, xwd and such.
How are these textures inside?
Are they .dds or .xds?
I still havent found a way how to view or convert .xds textures.
