Max Payne .ldb Level Models
Hey all, been trying to rip levels from the original Max Payne. The atmosphere of this game is something special, and I thought it would be really cool to port some of these maps to other games or do renders of them in modern graphics engines. Unfortunately, the .ldb format is I think the only thing...

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Yeah, now that you can get the original could you please tell your trick, when recreating , if any? I really have not idea how someone could get such good result from a point cloud! 8) Not really any tricks, just looked at the verts and connected the dots manually while looking at screenshots of th...

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Apologies. I just wasn't sure if the creator of the tools would of been good with us using there sources and I didn't want to upset anyone. Though I guess he wouldn't of posted it publicly if that was the case, so apologies for that. Luckily he replied to my PM though, didn't think he would since it...

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
I did in some areas, just to speed things up. But I always triangulated them afterward. I didn't bother with the damaged parts though, the verts were too weirdly placed for me to understand lol. But I'm pretty sure they're correct.

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Well the good news is that using the ripped vertices, and enough patience, you can reconstruct the faces and recreate the meshes. https://i.imgur.com/M95DAvf.png Considering what DK said, I assume we'd need a script in order to rip the proper faces right? But I got a feel for what meshes are what no...

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Mind posting the offsets/files for the wheel? Feel like I might have better luck with a smaller file first, maybe.

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Just looked at it, and yeah, it looks like everything is here. https://i.imgur.com/Y4AINW4.png I probably connected them improperly, but you can make out the shape of the engine popping out the top here and everything else. Considering how the meshes are split up I'm not surprised on why I wasn't ab...

Re: Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Yeah that kinda looks right to me, I think it might look ugly because it looks like the repaired meshes are merged with the damaged meshes. Here's some shots of this model swapped into the game, so this is how it should look. https://imgur.com/a/D5dGerk I've been using the back as reference, mostly,...

Roadkill PS2 Beta Models
Hello everyone! I found this beta disk for Roadkill, a classic PS2 game. There are tools for the final game available but the beta version has a different model format and the tools break on the model files here, and there's quite a bit of unused content in this beta version that would be cool to ex...

Re: Jet Set Radio HD Level Model File
Started on the map models. I was able to isolate each of the meshes but they're all centered at the origin instead of their correct locations. Hmm... I'd imagine getting the map textures to rip with that might be a little difficult too. The level textures are separated into several separate .TXB fi...

Re: Jet Set Radio HD Level Model File
I'm pretty sure the spraycan is a separate texture, at least in JSRF it was.egregiousguy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 9:02 pm I'm not sure why all the textures won't load (like the spray can)
Ya' think you'll be able to grab maps as well? Or is the format too messed up? I can send more level files if it would help.

Re: Jet Set Radio HD Level Model File
Well that was quicker than I thought. I just need to do this for the rest of them and then I guess I can call it a day. Huh, nice! Also I'm just curious, is there seperate head/hand models in the bin files? In JSRF they used seperate head/hand models for different facial expressions and hand poses,...

Re: Jet Set Radio HD Level Model File
Player models were easy to extract as seen below. I haven't worked enough with .nj files to get them textured but I figure that it shouldn't be that difficult to do. Nice! The rig also looks the same as the future models, which I assumed it would be since they reuse animations between the games and...

Re: Jet Set Radio HD Level Model File
This is the result for the bike (with a normals sphere in the midst): So that's what that spherical thingy was that I kept getting when trying to rip character models... For the face indices: I give up, it's too weird... Well thanks for the attempts, they got these files locked down like fort...
