I've been following this thread for quite some time but never actually posted anything. So heres my first post.
I was going to post something about how the launcher checks the md5 hash of all the files in the tdu2 game folder but later discovered it only checks some of the main files after changing some hashes myself to see how the launcher would react, only to contradict what i was going to post, so i ended up not posting at all.. I tried to change the hash tags in the file that the launcher looks to for said md5's but no luck as the launcher seems to also check the md5 of that file.
I was then going to post how if we could somehow change the tdu2 exe to not require the launcher then we could edit the files freely without the launcher redownloading them, but this was already acomplished.
What we need is a new launcher so that it doesnt check exsisting files but mearly downloads new ones when a patch has been released.
I can however say that i have found a way to get edited files working online but i've never really got stuck in to see what is really possible. Big Thanks for the QuickBMs scripts btw, big help and i think everyone will agree. I find that one of the usefull things that has been found so far from running the game unpacked is the file location hashes. Althou from a modding perspective, i cant see people extracting their whole game. But I think we should be moving towards a program to pack the files back up. I've already found that renaming all the main bigfile_xx_N.big to something else doesnt effect the game in anyway. And the way this game gets patched, new .big files just dropped into the game folder, shows us that if we can make our own .big files with .map counterparts then modding this game will be fairly easy. Well i say 'fairly easy', im not a modder myself so i wouldnt know.

On another note i have a fairly solid list of cars i believe will be in this game untill there is a next major patch.
RacingFreak posted a snippet of GamePC.cpr that shows only some of the cars that aren't actually in game. But the data from that file backs up the list i have currently, which includes 19 new car manufacturers and 7 bike manufacturers which are not in the game currently.

@Knyazev - There is already a full car list with id's

@Qwerty - Fair enough, your doing most of the work and not getting much back in terms of help. I dont however think thats a good reason to stop work on this project. If you've got the know how then dont keep it to yourself. If it means only telling certain people that have helped you so far with what you've been doing then thats perfectly fair. The number of people who ask stupid question without reading the thread shouldn't expect help or more work from anyone if they cant contribute. I can see why you've made your decision but i would like to see more work on this from yourself and others that have contributed. I for one would like to be of help in anyway i can.

What do you need help with? If these xmb's contain the replay data, then.. we should be able to save them and do things like watch them in our houses... :D

On a side note - I have just about got all the maps sussed in 3DS. Some materials have a specular map which is also the diffuse map, but I'm pretty darn sure they should be reflection (amount) maps when used in a proper raytrace material. Also, bump maps work best (I think) when hooked up to a normal map operator with red flipped and set to local XYZ. I may be wrong I have still have to experiment properly...

The only issue I have left is stickers. For example the Yellow 370z has a black sticker on the sides of the body. I have looked at mapping and there isn't any for these so I think stickers are mapped differently from the rest of the bitmaps (eg lights etc) and I suspect the "370z" sticker is treated like the rest of the stickers you buy and apply in the shop, and as such in the game you can't add or change stickers on cars that already have them eg Audi Q7 V12 "Chris" (or Ryan or whoever I stole it off :P) . I've tried to apply my own simple mapping without much success...

Basically I'm just trying to create a "raw" car file for export into other games maybe...

Here is the hotrod...the tyres are a quick knock-up by moi because the game ones suck lol (note- not rendered in-game :wink: )

Insert it in a batch file and place it in your game dir along with filelist.log and all remaining bin files. You don't have to extract all files all over again.
If you don't sort this out, the game might crash when it tries to load those missing files...

Nice render, too bad the wheels in TDU2 are crap...

we're actually trying to make real mods with new cars here, not just messing with the game's memory changing stuff around, that's for kids lol, get cheatengine and try it out yourself, it's really easy to get a couple of millions to buy all the game's cars

It says it almost once a page. The script to use it I believe is somewhere on the 7th page or so. Theres a few others flying around that may be better but I know that the first one works. Make sure to copy it exactly.

And would anyone know why one of my bins isn't extracting? I would post it but I'm not on the right computer at this point. It should be the R8 Spyder or whatever it is from the casino but it dumps files without extensions on them.

i agree, its a big mess in here. i spent like 2 days searching for specific things out of here and when i ask, ppl are like "read the thread". i understand their frustration tho. no offense you have done good work here. it is just mess because of the long researching.
