Oh wow :o so you unpack this files yeah? or..

it's my files, or it's from tdu2 *.big files? i don't get it :?

If this can get extracted, I will upload all the cars .bnk files as I do have them. (Just like the samples)


However, I want to also know about the .big which they are actually in, I was lucky enough to get sent the .BNK's but how they got it out of the .BIG is another question.

yes i unpacked the CCXR bnk file. if i see krom i'll ask him how he does the file name thingy hehe, that's the only part missing right now from the extractor.

some geometry coming up, there are a couple of changes here and there in the meshes format but i'm working on it, these are some parts of the MEDIUM resolution of the CCXR. low and high are also available in the files. nice to see 3 LODS for every car! :)

So what about the .big? Sorry for nagging, I just want to know if you do have any info about it.

Oleg creator of Zmodeler, there is a thread there so he could maybe get a import for it. If you gave him the 3D model files what you've managed to get he could create a import and maybe even export.

He did it for TDU1. :]

the problem is with the .big files, i extracted the bnk but no idea how u got your bnk files! maybe the guy can give them all to you, but distributing bnk files all over the place so other ppl can convert them too is, AFAIK, highly illegal! bad idea...

Like ive said, I was sent the files by someone as they knew I modded TDU1. They never gave any info on how they opened the .big format or anything. Which is sad because I would of loved to share the info here. :(

hi-res king's egg!
more research into the new geomtry format, it's getting more and more complicated as some meshes have different properties than others thus i cannot parse them with the same piece of code. after a lot of cleaning and moving around, here's a preview of the hi-res version of the car, with a couple of nice renders too :D it's killing me! u can see the details on the back, none of these has textures in it :wink: it's around 22K triangles hehe

Could you please post the whole extracted contents out of the .bnk? That way some of us could poke around in it. :wink:

May I suggest since the model files are (.3dg .2dm .3dd) try putting them into Zmodeler, as I said before Zmodeler can open TDU1 geometry format so since TDU2 uses the same files it could possibly work.

If you don't have zmodeler I could do it for you. :P

Just open up any file and go to offset 0x60
this is the file table size"right after RULEZPADDING "
then there is 4bytes that are not needed might be an id.
Then each entry is 0x14 bytes long
this is a sample

10 00 00 00 #always 10?
then the headers of each file are fairly easy to read.

that's what i've already done for the bnk, but the hard part is to get the right file names for each file, they're a few bytes below but they're kind of mixed up with folder paths...

no zmodeler does nothing upon loading the 3dg file and the rest in place. jesus, $60 to do that? maybe i should start selling my maxscript too? :P lol

:? I've expected zm won't import TDU2's 3dg since it supports only TDU1 (and nobody said it supports TDU2). Why to wonder? :wink:

Toolieo can you post some more tdu2 bnk files? i'm trying to make the extractor work, unfortunately i'll have to hard-code some file types, so please post a couple of rims and buildings files so i can cover as many file types as possible. till now we have
3dg (geometry)
3dd (scene organization)
2db (textures)
2dm (materials)
xsb (?)
anm (animation)
dhk (havok physics data)
xmb (?)

so i want to make the bnk extractor as complete as it can get. cheers!

No problem. I don't have buildings etc as I was only given the main car files. :[ Sorry.
