The main problem is what tool that you use to ripp. 3dvia printscreen destroy or stretch UV maps in most of cases (it dependes by the type of emu ,type of game, etc; instead with 3dripperdx this problem is less frequent ,but with this tool, the quality of the meshes is really variable.

That would be quite helpful :P

Ripping doesn't appear to work with the latest pcsx2...

I have Tried on an older computer~

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 3800+
2.00 GHz, 1 gig of ram

Geforce GT 220
1 gig ddr3~

i tried the most recent build of pcsx2 <0.9.7> r3876

used the ZeroGS 0.97.1 plugin Default~

i tried and this is what i got~

Image

ALSO i would like to note that even tho the UV's were fudged a little bit, i was able to fix them with a little work~

they were upside down and about 1/4 the size~ ( an Accurate guesstimation~)

Textures on the other hand were Messed up beyond repair~ they were like.... 8092 x 1 pixels.

im still trying some stuff out atm~

very excellent, its nice to see some decent attempts.

there are 2 methods that I used to get models from pcsx2, there is also a 3rd which originated from fanfury. I've tried this way and had success, but its sort of pointless. I'd rather go for the kill, at the heart.. the files....

so I'll quickly recap

1. 3DVIA
2. 3DripperDX
3. Import Data from RAM
4. Reverse the File Format

in which case the latter of the two would take too long to convey. using 3dvia is great, it gets results quick and easy, but 90% of the time you'll never get UV's. I assume this is a result of how the game stores the UVs in the Vram. it'll vary game to game. If your good with 3D editing, it wont take long to reconstruct the geometry and re-UV.
your probably aware that geometry has to be taken with zeroGS, as textures with GSDX9+. both plugins have to have compatibility to get both geo and tex..
anyway the only for sure way to get UVs is by using 3dripperDX, but it wont get you Y. I've said in the past to merge 2 rips to solve for Y but this wont do if the rips are not identical in size.
most games use backface culling to conserve memory.. so it wont work 50% of the time.

3DVIA is the only working method at the moment, the devs who made the PCSX2 plugins don't give a damn. so dont get your hopes up on this method, or the people who made pcsx2.
