Forza4 seems to be very high quality game in terms of details.
It will be released in October 11th.

Take a look at these amazing details:

Yeah it looks pretty incredible, I'll definitely be taking a stab at some asset extraction :)

Awesome!:)

They might release a demo version before the full version.
It could be a month before.
Like they did with Forza 3.

But yeah, it looks very incredible.
It is insane, they have pushed the Xbox360 beyond the limit in terms of graphics and details.

Excellent. :)

I just hope they use .carbin again they used it on all Forza games so far.

hey .. is there any chance that you add the forza 1 / 2 support - or is this project done?

i know those games are outdated and lowpoly and so on ... but there are some cars which are no longer available in forza3+4

Volkswagen Jetta, Nissan Altima, Mercedes CLK DTM, Acura CL from Forza Motorsport 1
Proton Motors Spirra, Seat Cupra GT, Chrysler Me Four-Twelve, Acura RL from Forza Motorsport 2
+ some special tuned cars + external parts which are no longer in Forza Motorsport 3

I started adding support for the extraction of Forza 2 car models but was sidetracked before I could finish. As for the project itself, it's still slowly (I might be able to spend 3-8 hours a week on it) in development behind the scenes. I've been rewriting things in anticipation for Forza 4, so I may end up squeezing in support for the previous releases if I've got the time. Regardless, the project is open sourced here as well as on my site, and everyone is free to help out with whatever they can...

It is now one month away for the release of Forza4.
Im damn hyped, the only game thats not so easy with the polycounts like all other racing games.

Turn10 confirmed it will have over 500 cars.
Too bad Forza is only for Xbox360.

Does anyone know when they release a demo?
Some says around 25th.

Just a heads up:
The demo is going to be October 3rd. Announced via "The Making of Bernese Alps Video" currently on the Xbox dashboard.

It seems as if it's already floating around on the internet :? so out of curiosity I had someone round me up a sample file. Upon first inspection, the .carbin model format seems almost identical to Forza 3 ;) I probably won't have much time to look into it this weekend, but be sure to stay tuned for Forza 4 support in Forza Studio :)

If anyone is interested in digging into this with me, attached is a file containing 254 32-byte vertices of a Forza 4 car. The vertex format differs from Forza 3, so it will need some decoding. The overall .carbin structure (at least for the lod0 files) remains relatively unchanged though...

Getting closer, just need to isolate an additional scale factor they seem to be using now... :D
