again, no credits for me, I just copy-pasted it from Kotton's Chop Shop.

Okay after Cleanup I got exactly 2 (not more) Normal Errors which can be fixed in 3DS Max within seconds.

After that you have a perfect Model ;)

Retry. Re-extract the file and try it open. The only tool i know is that XTX converted, and for me, it worked.
For the materials, you have to make all.

If you still happen to have problems with the textures, send them through a PM, and i'll see if it works for me

You answered your own question about converting the xds with XTX converter.

But, reading the whole topic might be a good idea.
Thats the way you dont miss anything.
And you could find this:
viewtopic.php?p=38184#p38184
with all the needs you want.
Good luck.

And getting the materials on the cars requires knowledge about 3D editing programs.
Thats too much to explain, I suggest you to google.
There are several 3D editing programs like Zmodeler series, 3D studio max, Maya, Gmax
Milkshape, Deep Exploration and etc.

@BigBear: he had troubles with XTX do DDS

@430scud: every part is separated to materials. All mats are deleted, but if you check it, the front bumper is in like 8 parts. Those are on 8 different materials that you have to make up. Most commons are glass, glass black, body, shared maps (chassis, underbody,...), interior, lights,... assign the textures to all, then assign the materials to the meshes

Also, if I wouldn't be disturbing, I'd like to suggest two things:

-separate export all: save every files separately (LOD0,LOD1,LOD2,LOD3,cockpit,...)
-export the textures with them to XDS (so you wouldn't have to use quickBMS at all)

Hello
Thank you for both answers.
I rather have problems with the converter: xds to tga.
Some of them are succesfully converted but the nodamage_lod0.xds and some other aren't.
I really don't know why it won't convert the other files , I need.

i noticed if you try converting multiple xds files at once it fails on the conversion, also, if you have it set so you can just click on the files and they run the converter automatically... If you have that setup and you click too many files too fast then again it will fail. only way i found to get every file to convert is to click each one, separately, wait for the converter to open then close THEN move onto the next. it seems to just not like multiple files at once.
Yes! i know that's what i said... But its not what i meant. ;)

Just write a batch file like this:

Code: Select all

NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -1538562059184809291.xtx
NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -1562566258284435386.xtx
NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -2043234478802056979.xtx
NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -263645799408748939.xtx
NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -288842375798847400.xtx
NFS_Shift_XTX_TO_TGA.exe -3116409635261905151.xtx
...
You can get a list of your files with a simple command line command. Navigate in a command shell to your texture dir, and type in following command:
dir *.xtx /B > list.txt
If you need a wait time between each picture, use two lines between each command:
@ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 -w 1000 > nul
@ping 127.0.0.1 -n %1% -w 1000> nul

It lists all XTX files (*.xtx |or whichever you decide to|), it does not show any additional info (/B) and writes it into a new list.txt ( > list.txt). Then open the txt, add the exe in front of every line, save it as whatever.bat and simply double click it.

Hi Ernegien,
I am excited with the Forza Studio. I would like to export some cars from Forza Motorsport 3,
and I know Forza Studio is the best program or I should say it's the only program to convert cars models!
Anyway, I got a problem, a big trouble about the program.
I've tried my best but I couldnt have any solution.

Well, required programs like Microsoft XNA Game Studio, Microsoft XNA Framework and Microsoft .Net Framework is installed.
Installed Programs are shown in pics:
ImageImage

In addition, Forza Studio Program is placed in C Drive location

The problem is here, actually i have all of the require programs installed, but when I run ForzaStudio.exe, it gives me such a problem.

i dunno why,i really annoyed with that. i hope someone who can help me!
Thanks in advance :)
i am sorry if the pics are too large in pixel.
PS. It is the newest version of Forza Studio

Yeah KaLaC, I'm well aware of the issue as I've got someone else that seems to have the same problem as well. I haven't really had much time to look into it, but it probably has something to do with my assumptions on the english language. Below is my current progress, and it should dump an error.txt file to the application directory if an unhandled exception gets thrown. Please paste that information (hopefully it's in English :P) back here and I'll see if I can fix the problem later...

It gave me that error like before, but no error.txt file was created in main directory.
