Ernegien wrote:Yeah, sorry about that. It's caused by a difference in string cultures where compared to North America, Europe seems to swap commas with periods for numerical values. Sommergemuese released a temporary fix earlier in the thread that you can use until I go back and fix it in my version...

Still the same messed up mesh when exported from the fixed version by Sommergemuese.
And imported with 3DS Max 7.
3DS Max 2010 will not install because of the error message "Can't find the End User License Agreement"
That erorr keep coming andcannot install 3DS Max 2010.

What about downloading the Free 30 Day Demo from Autodesk.com and not using Pirated Versions?

3DS Max 2011 is the recent Version and working.

3DS Max 7 is not working. Don't ask me why, I think there is something wrong with the Forza Studio. We will see if this will be fixed ;)

How do I download 3DS Max from the official site then?
Its downloads only the installer.exe and when starting it up,
it happens nothing.
And I use Firefox.

Successfully Converted Textures.

Problem is I can't offer you the unbundler which is needet for that.

No idea if it's possible with other tools...

PS: Thanks to shadowmoy for the little hint how to do this :)

Okay but you can't do much without this tool...

And sorry that I don't post a step by step Tutorial...

Howto:

Open one Texture you like with a Hex Editor.

Insert 60 Bytes at the beginning and Drop the Attached Header there.

Go to Offset 0x8 and Change the 6 Bytes to the Filesize WITH the 60 Extra Bytes. (It's in Big Endian.) This header has 16 00 70 = 1.441.904 Bytes. Important if you don't do that it will Crash.

Then go to Offset 0x20 and change the Texture Name to your liking.

Then UnBundler.exe texturename

It outputs all Mipmaps of the Texture.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

So its possible to get the textures now :P

My English is not that good to do them in right steps, but good find.

Looking again at the converted Ferrari texture I made the other week, I can see all the blue, but in those areas the alpha is 0, hence it was invisible. Are you saying the alpha is correct with your method of conversion?

Nope, incorrect no idea why, but thats for Shift Textures as well.

Saving them as PNG after Converting Solves the problem.

I could Image this Alpha is used for some Shading inside the Game maybe

Someone mentioned something about when you paint the car yourself getting a blank canvas, perhaps the alpha channel is used as a mask of some kind to the bits you can't paint over (like the ferrari logo, brake pads, fuel cap).
