Re: [PC] Devil May Cry 4
They're located in Libra, specifically the pl named files.
~CapCom\Devil May Cry 4\nativePC\rom\id\libra
However, the model converter doesn't work well. It's lacks Texture UV's/Coordinates and has some flipped normals. Not having UV's means textures won't work on models...

Well, good luck with the Textures and UV then, you'll need it.
As for the location, go in there where I previously listed, select one of the files (don't know which one is which, but PL models are the Hero characters) and in RPGViewer go to 'Addon' and go in Archive -> Extract.
You should see a list of files, extract them. In the Directory folder of the models a new folder should be generated with the names of the Archive...explore abit and use the DMC4Model converter on the first model file and it should generate a OBJ model...
Well, that's about what I found so far...

Re: Model Converter
Hi are there any news about the new release (with texture coordinates) of this great tool?Surveyor wrote:Hi,
here's a first release of the model converter for you to try.
all you need to do is type in the model filename you want (ex: model/model01.mod) and the program will create the corresponding .OBJ file.
at the moment only position data is exported, tex coords and normals will come in a later release.
stage model seems OK, but human models, enemies, bosses need some rescaling so I'll leave this to you!
don't hesitate to report any bugs or suggestions.
enjoy!
I can't wait to try it out.

Hi guys!!
I must admit that I got too lazy these days and although most of the models file format is clear, I didn't write a single line of code .
I promise though, I will do something and release at least a complete model exporter .

Re: [PC] Devil May Cry 4
I'm almost done with the MSG2 editor program. Only the default character-set supported (english, german, french etc.) by reading. The writer part support the most ASCII characters, yet.
Maybe not this is the best program, but at least works fine with the most msg2 file.
.NET 2.0 required.
(The ARC file injector is under development. I can't handle the "arc-compress", that's why will the program only append the new uncompressed data to the end of file.)

Have you already figured out how to export the skeleton for the characters and the skinning?
I'm interested in doing this. In case you need help in figuring that part out, I'd like to try to help.
Please let me know, thanks!

Hi,
Here's some new stuff on the DMC4. As you can see,
now texture coordinates work pretty well on character
models nut not for the stages, and there is some
small issues regarding the scalings. The head is a
little too big so I made a little rescaling to make
it fit with the body.
Enjoy!

Hey chrrox !!
You say the converter works for RE5??, I'd like to see that, but which version: PC, x360, ??
Poly, about the skinning and skeletons, yes I figured some of the data but when I tried to export to Max, it was a headache!! If you could show me a way to import this into max I'd be grateful!
Later!
Ohh! I just figured out that I didn't include any help file for the model exporter so here's the help: To use the exporter, it's better to place the .exe in the same directory as the model to be converted then type the name of this model et voila !!!

But I found out that some models (for example high-res head) do not have proper texture coordinates or they don't have it at all. Do you have any idea why?
