This was asked by somebody, but still not answered.
When using the gttool the result is: "Unable to process volume file." Any fix for this?
My way for win 10. Make two new folders in the file explorer.
X: \ gt6_vol_file
X: \ gt6_extract_file
Copy the gttool and gt6.vol in the x: \ gt6_vol_file
Use the keys WIN + R. Type CMD, press Enter.
In the Command Prompt window, navigate to the X: \ gt6_vol_file folder.
Start the Gttool
gttool
GT6.VOL GT6 X: \ gt6_extract_file
It is important to use the
GT6 argument for the tool.Without the argument GT6 there is the error message "Unable to process volume file." Should the tool start now, patience you must have ... it takes some time to extrate.
still dont work
what am i doing wrong?

What is wrong ??? Your command line ....
I wrote, navigate to the folder, inside. In your case H: \ gt6_vol_file
In this folder you can start the tool ... without H: \ ... blabla ...
you need only gttool GT6.VOL GT6 H: \ gt6_extract_file
When executing executable files in a folder, the argument X: \ gttool blabla .... is not needed ....
Pay attention to the correct spelling of GT6.VOL or GT.VOL

The commando line is correct and should work.
I have tested twice now. Once Win 10 64Bit, the other Win 7 Home Premium 64Bit.
No problem. I see you are using Win 8.1. Could it be possible that Win 8.1 is the problem? Missing share for folder ...
I have no idea where the problem should be ...

in your folder where your
VOL and
exe files are create a new text file
open it in notepad and ad this
Code: Select all
gttool.exe GT.VOL GT6 H:\gt6_extract_file
pause
now instead of
new text document.txt rename it to something like
extract.cmd
once renamed to
extract.cmd double click it and let the archive extract
in mean time you'll see that in your
H:\gt6_extract_file locations folders are being extracted, done

still the same error.. Tested on Win 8.1, Win7 and Win10
is that correct gt.vol file, right?

you either have broken (corrupted, unfinished download) VOL file, or using wrong gttool

Solved. i downloaded GT.VOL from another place (Game version 1.00), now it seems to work.
Another question. GT.VOL from Gran Turismo 6 [EUR-RUS][BCES01893][OFW][PS3xploit Han] (1.22) game version doesn't include the cars from the 1.00-1.22 updates right?
Thanks to everyone who helped with that issue!

Excellent that it worked.
It is sometimes a detective work after a long time finding the right file or tool.
Unfortunately, some creators do not document their tools. With which version the tools work correctly.
Another problem is finding the right GT.VOL. The WWW is big and so you can sometimes find a corrupt or a fake file.
As with Gran Turismo 6, it can be a matter of luck.
Personally, I'm happy about every little thing when it works.

Thank you for this great job,
I downloaded the full game, and extracted the gt.vol and I began to put the marks of cars on each folder, for those interested

Using explorer, navigate to GT.Vol folder (Example >> D:\torrents\PS3_GAME\USRDIR)
extract or move the gttool64.exe to here also.
Now, click the address bar ONCE and type CMD, then press enter..
Command prompt will now open, Paste this when it does >>> gttool64 -u -i gt.vol -o GT6 EXTRACT
then press enter and wait. Be sure you have 30Gb or more space, and good luck
