Not to sure naked Ellen Page be great in GTA IV or some game.

Quantic Dream neither care if you rip Ellen's vulva texture..

EDIT: yes, perhaps I said it in a harsh way. But the point is that since the dawn of time users modded games (that they bought and legally own, of course). Why this should be now a problem? Because it's a PS3 game? Because there are textures depicting skin? You could even use a 3D printer to make a replicant of Jodie/Ellen but then? That's still not Ms. Page.

Can we please stop this discussion right now? If you guys are really that obsessed over some fake textures, go discuss it somewhere else. It's disrespectful towards Ellen, she has put some amazing work into Beyond: Two Souls, and the only thing everyone is talking about is a texture that isn't even her's. Btw, this is exactly why I didn't want to release a model extractor from the beginning.

i'm glad this is back open!

staying on track - after re-reading your research and videos i went and bought the game (so far i think the narrative works well and the acting really incredible). but your progress was inspirational. someone else said they started porting a game - but its a huge technical challenge to reimagine the whole engine.

would love to know how far you got rendering the characters with your new engine. you posted the textured models, but how far off was the skeleton/animation research? obviously with some of the rendered scenes, inclusion of the characters in the intro sequence would make a fantastic demo.

edit

so i'm also pretty amazed at how quickly you made the switch from gamemaker (original exporter tool) to c# - particularly with threading. is that something you picked up for this project? 8)

Could you link me to that topic? :)

Aside from some rotation issues I pretty much completely reversed the skeleton format, however, not vertex skinning, this would've been the next step towards animation. I took a few brief looks at the animation data, but I couldn't get any sensical data out of it, so it's most likely compressed.

My engine already has support to load in models when the game's script calls for it, so you can see the models appear at (0, 0, 0), but without animation it's pretty boring :P

Yup, I was up and running in about 2 days. All of my C# knowledge that I have now is indeed because of this project. Every time I didn't know how to do something I just googled it or asked someone, and then moved on.
