Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)
Let me assure you. I fully support all continued work out in public, preferably in this thread. I agree that it should not be behind closed doors, but instead be shared with everyone. This site is about modding, and models are part of that. So I invite you all to continue on topic. Any more flame posts will result in all posts of that person deleted and the person banned.
Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)
Well.. IMO all non-related posts should be deleted, also, someone should sum up importing/exporting to the most popular 3D applications, so newbies wouldn't ask around that, either. Somewhere else (Holy Cow section, or wherever), someone should create a topic specially for FM3 mesh renders/converts picture post&commentary, so this thread would remain purely for research purposes.
About the Kotton thing: since I'm down with him, I wouldn't really add much. Though that E30 without any interior texture looks kinda strange. Kotton, by the way, has released many mods, and as George said, has really high skills. He's a bit of a jerk, but he's like House M.D.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)
I don't care if Kotton were God himself. If he keeps up that attitude he's gone.

Kotton has been banned by me for being a dickhead and a prima donna.

Of course you need Bundler.exe from the XDKMicrosnakey wrote:Is they a way of converting the converted texture back to xds and rezipping the files so I can mod textures on Forza 3. Sorry if it has already been posted I looked through every page and couldn't find it

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)
I didn't said the opposite my friend. I never seen his work. That's why I said, if he is good enough he can post some of his work, and if it is good indeed I will be the first to admit it.g3org32010 wrote:kotton is a very good modeler/converter..don't say that about him
you guys should all stop, i think this will finish by a multiple ban :/
However, his criticism could be a little bit more polite. We are all fans of racing games here, we don't need to argue. If something doesn't like to us we can simply mention it without being rude. That's all i'm saying.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)
Thanks Mr. Mouse and Craptain for doing what you can to help keep this thread on topic, it is much appreciated.
The internet is not some virtual world where you can do and say whatever the hell you want without any regard for others. This topic has always been about the research, and I would like to continue doing so in this thread, provided that people maintain proper levels of respect for others in this community. Please remember that those who contribute to this community do not owe anybody anything. They do it in their own free time because they simly love doing so. Do not ruin it for us.
That being said, I've made a little bit more progress last night and this morning mapping out track objects. It is currently only rendering the first piece in each object, so some may still look a bit incomplete, and I haven't cared to pinpoint normals for each of the different vertex formats that they use yet, so some of the lighting may seem pretty weird as well.
The ultimate goal here is to get the track mesh and objects extracted to have a nice scene to render the cars on. I currently have no plans on extracting much of anything else and definitely do not plan on re-importing them into Forza or any other game so please do not bother me with such requests. So far I've mapped out past the filetable on the main track files (.stx.bin) with no real sight of the mesh data yet. I will be sure to post my updated project's source once I've figured a little more about it all.

Ernegien, you are icecold man, you are icecold!
Turn10 devs are no match for you!
I wonder how you investigate the Xbox contents since they are very hard to crack.
Thats a real programming skills you've got
