I run it on Windows 10 (64bit, but that's typical nowadays) and I'm not doing anything special at all to have it work :-|

Thanks for the response. It's just so weird. I'm not doing anything different than I do on my old laptop. Oh well. :]

Eh is there a way to convert an .obj/.dae./whatever to SWTOR-usable .gr2?

I believe the reason the open archive isn't working is some new change to net framework and windows ten, thus any future assets may be difficult to extract on up to date systems. If anyone has the current extracted assets they could upload somewhere, it would be greatly appreciated as the only other solutions I can think of to get into the archives to even open them is an adjustment to the program, a different program or different way (any ideas?) or going on an older computer, I only do want the Gr2s and DDs/tex/mat files. My node viewer still reads the .tor files so at least I know my tor files and node viewer work, I wish I could extract the gr2's through node viewer.

My static and dynamic assets folders add up to some 50 GB. I have the bandwidth to get that uploaded anywhere in an evening (unless the zillion small files slow down the process), but I don't know where I could put them.

I think I don't have any Windows 10 autoupdate blocker in my PC, and the last time I did a full extraction was after SWTOR 6.0 Onslaught's release, so it still feels weird that you aren't able to. I'll do some testing later in the day to check that the same isn't happening to me, just to make sure.

I don't know if it would help but, just in case… Can you create a new, temporary user account in your Windows machine and try the apps there, to test that your troubles aren't due to some strange interaction with stuff in your normal user account?

Edit: I didn't delete the .gr2 files yet, and have .obj copies too, so surely that could be trimmed down quite a lot.

Edit 2: the .obj are about 14,5 GB, so the .gr2 and .dds ought to total about 35 GB.

By the way: I've managed to have Noesis work on my Mac wrapped in WINE (accessing a copy of the game's .tor files that I moved to my Mac's HDD), exporting game objects without trouble so perhaps that might be a route if the problem proves itself unsolvable.

Well I am pretty sure in order to use WINE I got to use a virtual machine with linux/mac OS and then run Wine to get windows in order to open it correct?
Also you can upload the 50 gig sized files to google drive with ease, google drive is good for that type of stuff, I did try the temporary account on windows and it didn't work unfortunetly, it seems to be the way the new netframework with latest windows handles new net expressions as before it let the error run and the error wasn't really an error and worked, however now it closes it unfortunetly D: also the newest windows update for main versions was 3 days ago and 4 days before that was the net framework update. Unfortunetly my laptop is the same but other machines would probably make it work until they update their files to that OS (If they need to that is). But yeah google drive should work if your willing, it would be extremely appreciated especially if you have all the OBJs with all their textures already compiled on them

About WINE: yes, I guess you would have to get, say, Oracle's VirtualBox, install some Linux plus Wine, and tell the thing to access the Windows folder where the game assets are. A bit eeergh :(

Alright: I'll see about uploading the thing to my Gdrive. When it's ready I'll send you a linkie. About the .obj files, they are simply converted from the original .gr2 through Noesis, placed alongside. There are no texture conversions and assignments, I'm afraid. Given that, would you rather I omit them? That would save you a lot of space.

My Gdrive limits me to about 17 GB. I'll have to slim down things.

Big shout out to zero for giving me ALL the assets up to date, and ontop of that the patience he had dealing with me!

Also big tip guys. If your textures arent showing on your noesis viewers, download Noesis 434 from a clean download place (the site or something, empty) I found out if u download it from someone else, and its a newer version, rarely does the config work in setting the right paths (probably because the paths auto generate in python) But also that way u can view with the textures and export easier! I found one on the youtube video of how to clean N mat files

Make sure to download a fresh swtor python addon for noesis as well, found one by swtor miner in the noesis plugin thread that had some fixes and was empty (not plugged into someone elses noesis, previously)

I've been given notice of a recent guide to extract SWTOR models for 3D-printing by means of Ninja Ripper, Noesis and Blender (or any other 3d app able to open .obj files and export .stl ones). I'm posting it here just in case it's useful:
https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments ... _3d_print/

The author has posted samples of the results, including downloadable models.

Seems the mining tools (Pugtools) I have been using are now broken, they cant mine new abilities or items without the program crashing.

I cant contact the author to fix the problem, does anyone else have this experience?

The people at Jedipedia.net said they had managed to decipher it. I don't know if they posted the information anywhere.
