Hey Guys,
I'm a little better prepared this time! Since Granny 3D (.GR2) is way more common than the file types I usually request to open, I was able to come up with this:
Link to the high poly file here: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... Punk_H.zip
I used this tool to convert the mesh inside the .GR2 - file to .obj:
http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0801/evegr2toobj.2.zip
With "Granny Viewer" I could view the textures within the .GR2 - file:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/resource ... 5-0.21206/
I ripped the displayed textures in "Granny Viewer" with this program:
https://glxtractor.software.informer.com/download/
One of the textures came out half transparent:
it displays correctly on the model though.
My question now is;
Does anybody know of a more straight forward workflow? I want to export the sleds and characters, so everybody can use them. In best case theres a noesis import script for both the models and the textures already.........i hope.....
in any other case, take this thread as a "guide" to convert Winter X-Games: Snocross .GR2 files

Did you use Evergreen to convert? Sometimes a model consists out of Multiple submeshes...the tires in your case. Is the used .gr2 file for the whole car?

Re: Winter X-Games: Snocross (.GR2 - File)
Based on many others ALMOST correct code I've adjusted and built new exporters over the years.
My programs don't require command line and rip complete models.
Given some people want textures also exported?
I'll do a newer version if needed.

Im trying to get my hands on the sled models seen in this Video at 01:06
https://youtu.be/tjqOg4px8LA
They seem to be .gr2 files within a Single .rez
Would this be a common method to pack granny models like that?
Heres a Link to the CARZ.rez file:

(Let me know if dead)

No that is not a GR2 file in anyway.
I see textures and meshes but have not looked hard at it.

So .rez is a Archive for models and textures, right?05SpeedMaster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 9:27 am No that is not a GR2 file in anyway.

Re: Winter X-Games: Snocross (.GR2 - File)
It looks that way to me.
I see IMG which I figure is image and M3D which I figure is the 3d mesh.
Do a hex search for EOF. (End of File)

Re: Winter X-Games: Snocross (.GR2 - File)
So is the model structure like the .gr2 file?05SpeedMaster wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 10:49 am I see IMG which I figure is image and M3D which I figure is the 3d mesh.
why would it make sense to use different model formats if its not terrain or physic based suff?

Re: Winter X-Games: Snocross (.GR2 - File)
Oofff....good question man.
ESPN licensed it for sure!
All i know is that its been released 2012 and comes with a hard drive that you can order seperatly.
Heres a Link to the operators manual:
https://manualzz.com/doc/9494975/winter ... --snocross
I Found this on wikipedia:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Games_SnoCrossX Games Snocross is a snocross racing video game from ESPN and 2XL Games that was released on January 18, 2010 for iOS. It was the first game demoed on the Apple iPad on stage January 27, 2010 by Scott Forstall.[1]
This seems to be a different game though.
This is the one i am refering to:
https://rawthrills.com/games/snocross/
So i guess it must be pc-based the, right?

Re: Winter X-Games: Snocross (.GR2 - File)
Just found this in the games manual:
"The computer contains sensitive components, including a hard drive. Do not handle it roughly. Call your distributor
before servicing its internal components. Ask about warranty information as it relates to the PC.
Do not turn the PC power switch on or off. It should remain permanently in the ON position.
Cycle AC power on or off with the cabinet power switch.
A dongle has been inserted into one of the USB ports. This is required for game play.
Do not remove the dongle except for troubleshooting purposes."
So it is actually pc-based!
I heard that most of these run on Windows XP.
