Re: MechWarrior 4: MekTek File Encryption Breaking

Actually, there's already a blender script for 2.92.

mariokart64n came along and coded a python script that lets you import base game .erfs (Vengeance, Mercenaries, and Black Knight).

Re: MechWarrior 4: MekTek File Encryption Breaking

I actually made a topic about this (this and the .erf files in general) a while back, you can find it here:

Try this

According to the topic, that should be the key.

And just to clarify, this also happens with the Prototype Ray too.

And in the Prototype's case, it also seems to be missing textures.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) Noesis Plugin (Models, Anims)

Just wanted to let you know about something

For some reason, the textures on the Mass Produced Ray seem to display weirdly in Noesis (mostly an invisible texture issue.)

Re: Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Noesis Plugin (Models, Anims)

Alright, good to know

I'll see if I can just put the textures in blender then.

Re: Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Noesis Plugin (Models, Anims)

I've been trying it with the PC version, so that could be why.

Re: Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Noesis Plugin (Models, Anims)

I do need some help with the plugin though.

How exactly do I get the textures to auto-apply?

I put the .dar that contains REX's textures in the same place I put the model files, but they don't seem to be applying.

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

Bumping this.

I just want to ask, how should decryption of the mektek files be done?

The data is definitely encrypted, since none of the methods from the comtype scanner worked.

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

I figure that I might as well share the results I got from the comtype scanner. I've attached the files with the closest file size, so that you can take a look and see if there is anything of note. There may be some junk files (files with no significant data), but if you come across those, just igno...

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

After going through the outputted files from the comtype program, none of them seem to have worked, so it's definitely encrypted data.

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

I've got some new information.

I managed to find unencrypted versions of certain mechs, which I believe will provide potential reference for decryption.

Make sure to match up the right encrypted and decrypted files though, they have the same names so that should be easy.

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

Just wanna bump this with some info. Here's the file I attached earlier with ONLY the encrypted ERFs. If anyone wants to take a crack at decryption, just download the file. According to a post on the forums that I found, a potential key for decryption could be this: NV12NV24YV12UYVYYUY2AI44AI88AYUVA...

Re: Help needed with Hex2Obj/MechWarrior 4

Alright, works for both the normal parts and cockpits now.

Though I do want to ask, can anyone here take a look at the encrypted files and see if you can decrypt them?

It's the last thing that I wanted to ask for.
