Very nice work works great. I will try to implement a drag and drop method for loading the files and if i can figure it out hopefully a way to control the camera with the mouse.

Use xsi mod tool. http://www.softimage.com/products/modtool/ you can import and export model files for all the half life games. Import a character in the game already with the skeleton. then delete the mesh and just leave the skeleton. No scale your model to fit the skeleton and just skin your chara...

several articles show that the 3do and pc ports should be almost identical.

nope the 3d0 and pc ones are same file structure sega was different.

That is great progress.
can you post a .nif file so I could compare it to a normal one and I might be able to get some clues.
I can try to rip these files from memory while the game is running if that will help.
