MultiEx Commander 3.8b does NOT work on Win98

Hello all. The new installment of MultiEx Commander has some new system files that are newer versions than those supported by Win98 (and probably Win NT). This means that on these operating systems the setup program will ask you to overwrite the system files. If you do this, your windows can't handl...

Well, you can utilize this script in Mex3Scriptor (start from within the program). Then save it as lbx.bms and Use Custom BMS On... Select the created lbx.bms and then select an archive of your choice. This will probably let you import into it, but it is not flawless. The last file of each archive w...

I think you are at the wrong forum here. I suggest seeking Delta Force forums for an answer to your problem. This forum is basically intended to discuss issues with MultiEx Commander. :!:

:? What do you mean? You can import your files into archives that are supported for importation. For instance, if you extract sounds from , say, PAK files, you can edit them, and then use MultiEx Commander again to replace the original files in the PAK archive with your edited sounds. 8)

Well, yes, if this is the case, then this format is not supported for file importation. I can always have a look at the format.

I don't know which sound editor you have, but if you have something like Cool Edit you can open raw sounds and specify the format.

The format I found closest to the true format is
pcm,
8bit,
mono,
signed
11025 Hz

If you open the .mex files with these settings they should work.

It depends. The files are .MEX files, because the FLX format has no filenames stored in the archives. They can be all kinds of sound files then, I don't remember what the sound format is in SOUND.FLX files from Crusader : No Remorse. It's been long. Anyway, you can try to rename all of them into .WA...

Ok, take this BMS file and try again

http://www.xs4all.nl/~michael/temp/cbf.bms

1. Choose the BMS File
2. Choose the game archive

Note : it may be that this only works on the demo version and NOT on the retail version. If all goes well you should be able to extract some WAV files with this BMS.

That's interesting, but which program gives the error? MultiEx3Scriptor or MultiEX Commander?

Not as of yet, as I don't know the crunching method they use on resources in retail RFA files.
