What's the status of this? Unpacking archive? Unpacking data files?
Anyone know what file contains music?
If it needs a lot work, I might start chipping away at the PC version. I only like doing the damn near impossible...with good music as a reward.

Re: Encrypted or just the wrong way to read it ?
It is too consistent to be encrypted. Those look like they could be byte arrays or potentially single-precision floating point decimals. Edit: I'm 99% sure that the file contain parsed english text with some values. I really would like to have any tip about how to work on it, and understand by what ...

Petition to Ubisoft to release a DRM-free version of BG&E2
The details are at the link. Please sign if you agree and pass the word around (Twitter, Facebook, other forums, etc.). It is going to be very hard to 1,000,000 signatures on this petition before the game releases this year: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/bgae2drm Info about Beyond Good &...

Re: Question about the Wiki
I don't like the idea of page names along the lines of "000 (Afterlife)"; this style directly contradicts every format name style I've ever seen and feels counterintuitive. That's what Wikipedia does: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT Same symbols, different meanings (common issue with fil...

Re: Question about the Wiki
That would save work in the long run as you said. I think we still need to rename all pages from, for example, Afterlife 000 to 000 (Afterlife) as well as come up with a new set of categories for titles and extensions with considerations for more than just games (some sort of type category). Here's ...

Re: Question about the Wiki
I think Categories (e.g. File Extensions ) is the better way except on extensions like ZIP where there are two or more extensions used for the same file type. In which case, disambiguation pages are necessary to pool multiple extensions into one page with the data. Edit: After some thought, I think ...

So, you have no problem renaming "GRAF:187 Ride Or Die MFD" to "187 Ride Or Die MFD" for example?

Re: Question about the Wiki
Nope, I don't. :( If/when I do start working on it, the first objectives are unified page names (some are "game extension" and others are just "game" with the extension inside) which needs to be fixed in order for it to appear correct in the categories that will inevitably be mad...

Re: Question about the Wiki
Wikis are indispensible for large, collaborative projects. We wouldn't have been able to completely disassemble Nightfire model files without one. Everything has to be well organized and easy to manipulate though so that using the Wiki is not a burden to contributors but, since it isn't my baby, I w...

Re: Question about the Wiki
Wow, no one has touched the Wiki in 30 days...except me. It really needs a lot work especially in the category department (over 500 uncategorized pages). I'll work on some of it when I have time.

Re: Request to allow numbers in our usernames
I signed up yesterday and have 90 in my name. I didn't see the no numbers allowed until afterwards. Just make sure you put a reason in for joining.

Re: List of games that you can extract 3d models from !
I've documented a lot of the Half-Life (version 10) MDL format and almost all of the James Bond 007: Nightfire (version 11 & 14) MDL format. Details for all of them are here: http://wiki.nfbsp.com/index.php/Research Nightfire Workshop has the Studio Model Tool plugin which can work with these. ....

Re: [PC] HPK Archiver
I have another tool I created yesterday/today to upload but it is giving me a Upload empty on the forum and IO error on the blog. There's something wrong with PHP/MySQL permissions.
