I would assume this is a new fileformat from Microsoft. As their SystemUpdates use the same container. If history proves to be right, this files are encrypted (if not fully, at least partially) and the keys has to leak from somewhere (xdk, exploit?)?

I probably shouldn't have used the term skip (though the waveform is completely flat), maybe clipping would be a better word for explaining it. With the latest trunk, extracting from PS3/audio_misc.rpf/streams/menu_music.awc results in a few files. menu_music.awc.14735460.wav is the one i've noticed...

I'm using the latest trunk of LibertyV and extracting audio_misc.rpf/streams/menu_music.awc (from the PS3) results in skips in every file (some have more, some less). Extracting the same files from the 360 is producing skip-free or much less skips overall. btw 360 files result in 31999Hz sampling ra...

I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that I added support for extracting audio from the xbox version. I had to figure out how to decode XNA. So it is just WMA Pro with specific parameters. I use the ffmpeg (with very minor tweaking, the only problem was the fixed header size in XNA)...

Has anyone worked on the .xmt files in common? I started looking at them and they appear to have the same structure as the Save files (PSIN/PSIG/CHKSM blocks, hashes etc.) which is kind of weird (unless they are some sort of container).

The actual list of files inside the chunk/bundles is inside the bom.fb2 file. Its an archive (ZIP) that have .rm files for every file in the Data directory, this files seems to be a meta files, describing the files inside the sb/chunk archives. The files ending or starting with "_mp" will not load if they're modified on the Xbox 360, they encrypt a hash with RSA. I'm not sure if they do the same for the PC files. compraring with COD4:MW, every .ff file related to MP is encrpted, add some byte to check the file between offset 00 ...

Its too bad, but its not malware, its the main back of the creative's drivers, and this .dat's if i i'm right contain info about features of the soundcard itself
