Re: Lotro - Lord of the Rings Online extract tool
I, too have an interest in the DDO .dat files. The link posted above my own post point to a file that was removed. If anyone has the original text ripper that was posted and can confirm that it works on the current version of DDO's client_gamelogic.dat, I'd be much obliged.

Dungeons and Dragons Online .dat Format
I recently got back into playing DDO, and was wondering if anyone could break the *.dat archive format. I have reason to believe it uses zlib compression, because the working directory contains zlib1.dll and zlib1T.dll , if that's of any help. I also uploaded one of the smaller dats for you to check...

Huh... Didn't notice that until I took a closer look... My attentiveness seems to take a hit after 2am.

Re: Guild Wars .DAT File
Not sure if this is useful or not, but Guild Wars Wiki has an entry on the GW.dat file format.

Re: RuneScape decompression code
It has to do with something like FORTRAN or COBOL; don't remember the exact context, but it's been around for a long time, its kind of a precedent thing.

Re: Finished games with animations?
If I remember correctly, Thief I & II both store their meshes, textures, and animations in renamed *.zip files. The TTLG community over here has developed some nice tools for messing around with Thief; one of them being, to my best recollection, a tool that converts the meshes and whatnot into 3...

Re: Sonic and Knuckles Collection (PC)
Thats odd, considering the .ds2 file I'm assuming you used is the one from my installation (obviously), and it apparently works for you, so why not for me?

Re: Sonic and Knuckles Collection (PC)
When I try the extract all option, I get the following error: Non-negative number required. Parameter name : value. It extracts all the files, I'm guessing, however, they have no extension. Another thing, the file being opened is a *.ds2 file, not a *.dat; also, when I open the file, I'm guessing I'...

Re: Sonic and Knuckles Collection (PC)
Oooh yeah, I'd love it if the scripts ended up being in there. If not, they might be in the exe itself, or in one of the other files in the installation. There's only 2 other files in the installation that might hold data, one's 2kb in size, the other's 13kb in size. They can be found here.

Re: Sonic and Knuckles Collection (PC)
Gotta be sure, ya know. Also, if ya'd release either the specs or source, I'd be much obliged. I'd like to learn a bit about GRAF hacking, might come in useful some day, ya never know! :keke: Oh, and as for the models, they might be for the various 3D background objects in the special stages, like t...

Which part, the exe or the lack of another archive? Or is that sarcasm I sense?
