Re: Granny .GR2 Reader plugin for Noesis

Thanks for the script jayn23, most useful. One thing I have noticed though is that meshes appear to be X-flipped (something that LSLib does as well, despite having a setting for it). It's clearly noticeable on non-symmetrical meshes (like certain hairstyles) when comparing them to the originals in-g...

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta

The ModelId value tells you what you need to know. It's a reference you will find in the appropriate index.xml for the specific body part it relates to (in both these cases, resources\art\dynamic\chest\index.xml). The best approach when looking up values from Jedipedia is to use Notepad++ and its Fi...

Re: Blood Bowl II - cef models

I assume he is suggesting it is the same engine (appears to be Cyanide's own in-house creation), therefore he was recommending the only thread which appears to have any info on the format, which was of course by you. How much similarity is there with what they did for Aarklash Legacy?

Re: Blood Bowl II - cef models

It seems like they have indeed ditched Gamebryo for a new engine. I can't find any info on what it is though. I've never heard of the CEF format either. I wonder if it's all their own in-house creation.

Re: Blood Bowl II - cef models

Nice work.

So is this a new custom format of their own making? They are no longer using Gamebryo and NIF?

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta

Yeah, for the names that looks right. JW for Consular/Sage is because originally they were called Jedi Wizard. Not sure about the Agent, but I assume it is also some legacy name. For the body sizes, Male: 1 - BMA 2 - BMN (N=normal presumably) 3 - BMS (S=super?) 4 - BMF (F=fat) Female: 1 - BFA 2 - BF...

Necromancy: New import/export tool for KOTOR 1/2 request

Is there anyone interested in taking a crack at coding a new compiler/decompiler for the MDL format used by Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) 1 and 2? There is an existing Perl-based tool, MDLOps, that can decompile and recompile the format, but it has always been fairly broken/buggy and it is lim...

Re: [REQ][PC]Sleeping Dogs .big files

This isn't my sort of thing at all, but it would appear that all BIG files have an empty header of 256 bytes, followed by the first 4 bytes of data being 50 4D 43 51 "PMCQ", which I guess signifies the file type. BIX files seem to all share the same first 4 bytes, A8 40 5C 2C. As Lennox775...

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

The retail client is now available for pre-load by those that have registered their pre-order code. They have also extended the early access period to 7 days (was previously 5) which now starts on Dec 13.

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

Btw testing is now over. Early access starts late next week (15th), so the retail client should go live by Mon/Tue (12/13) next week I would think. From comments made by devs it would seem that little is likely to change content-wise, but I'm unsure how things will change on the file system/format s...

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

Haven't had time to do an in-depth test, but at first blush the new version seems to work fine. By the way, for anyone that wants to try out TOR, they are giving away beta keys to all and sundry for an upcoming weekend. They said they will invite everyone that has ever signed up for testing on the m...

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

Sounds good. I look forward to trying it out. It would be especially good if you get that unnamed GR2 finder working. I don't think moving/copying textures is necessary. I guess it would be handy feature to have some time in the future, but for now I'm sure people would rather see a release sooner w...

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

Yeah generating a hash list in EasyMYP only gets names for about a third of the files. It does seem like it correctly identifies file type for DDS files that it it has no filename for at least, but everything else pretty much gets generically assigned as a text file.

Re: Star Wars - The Old Republic - Beta - GR2 model

Eventually no doubt. Might need to wait until the game goes live though possibly, if capturing packets from the server is required.
