Re: Tachyon the Fringe SBF audio

We did get this resolved and opened the SBF's.

As was said by Apollo above you have to use GenH, and Winamp to play or convert the files.

Finding Access to Debug Mode?

Hi folks. I've been looking around for information via Google on how to activate debug mode (in general) on games and to my surprise, there really isn't any. Most of what is out there is references to existing features in games, not how to open up these treasure troves of features. Even searching he...

Re: SWF Files

Have you tried an alternative ripper?

Such as - http://www.flash-ripper.net/

Perhaps if it is locking up on a certain file, that file is actually damaged or protected.
You really should have posted a link to the SWF and what you needed out of it.

Re: Tachyon model PAK format circa 1999

Based on some new information, using Max 3 exports, we're guessing the original model format could be .ASE. Our other candidate is probably .3DS. There's not much in the way of export options in Max 3, so we narrowed it down a little anyway. There still could have been an intermediate converter in b...

Tachyon model PAK format circa 1999

Trying to get a legitimate method of extracting models from Tachyon's combination model + texture format PAK. I've been trying to get a Freespace 2 mod off the ground for 6 years, and I'm finally back to looking for a way to use the original objects. I'd be more than happy to make a Xentax donation ...

Re: Blur .pak files

Very unfortunately... there's not much support in trying to get this game modded further.
I've tried even contacting some of the ex-developers and didn't get very far.

Re: Blur .model

That'd be much appreciated cause documentation is poor at best, with max scripts scattered
across the 3DRDX forum which is about to collapse.

My DX6 question was in regard to this: http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/forum2/ ... f=2&t=7202

But let's not clutter the Blur thread with it.

Re: Blur .model

It's been my experience thus far with Blur that 3DR will rip a "complete" model, but miss sub objects or details on the opposite side of whatever you are looking at. Usually car lights, tires, or windows. It seems to create a lot of duplicate objects due to reflections. The showroom models...

Re: Blur .model

Well RF, I question if you have used 3DRDX before, as I've not stated I've taken a "huge load" before. I've attempted to take several captures in the interest of seeing how well the output would come out. Textures are exported with different file names each time you shut down and reload 3D...

Re: Blur .model

Well I can give you a 3DRDX ripped model file if you want to take a look. If you're not interested any longer RoadTrain, would you mind passing the information on? I did attempt to send you an e-mail on this a few days ago. I have been contacting the developers (ex Bizarre) - but haven't yielded any...

Tachyon the Fringe SBF audio

Hey folks, trying to figure out some information on a really old file type from 1999/2000 - the SBF extractions from the space combat game Tachyon the Fringe. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/tachyonthefringe/index.html http://pc.ign.com/objects/011/011519.html I'd like to be able to play them outside...

Re: Blur .texture

As I mention over in the .model thread, you can get textures out with 3D Ripper DX 1.8 or later. 1.8 seems to do a better job than 1.8.1 unfortunately. The problem actually is that we need a utility or something to repack them into Blur, then we'd be in good shape as to car or level texture modifica...

Re: Blur .model

You can capture models from Blur with 3d Ripper DX 1.8.0 and later. So far I can get a about a 90% complete model, but all the other data about the car is of course lost. Not sure if that would help anyone here to take a look at the output and compare it with the original file format. It can also gr...

Well if you need people to help test I'd be interested in lending a hand.

Modding Blur is one of my side goals/projects now.
