Re: Gas Guzzlers Combat Carnage (.fsb)

I really have to agree to Luigi. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT COULD EFFECTIVELY HAPPEN IF THE OLD RULES WOULD STILL APPLY!!! We lose our source of income and xentax will eventually die. I'm sorry if it's somewhat inconvenient to have to ask for samples, but publicly peddling illegal goods is not logically n...

Re: Max Pain 3 .RPF Repacker

Re: Global Website Issues

MyBB doesn't seem good from a security perspective, there have been tons of security vulnerabilities found in it and even recently. Ugh I don't like to hear that, but thanks for the heads up. What's worse: the templating system is database only so I can't use an IDE to speed up development. Why do ...

Lives, work, other stuff to do. A migration is never clean and quite an intensive process.

edit: after my recent experiences with phpbb, I am seriously entertaining the thought of migrating though. Hacking phpbb is bad for my mental health.

That would be a likely explanation. It's definitely not a project I would want to contribute to.

Also, should we [s]have an open invitation for an outright "this forum is better than that" flamewar[/s] start taking suggestions for better forum software?
Migrating the forum is unfortunately not an option for us at this point in time.

Re: We need your donations. Campaign 2011

It is impossible to work with phpbb. It has a cache that you need to clear twice before your changes become viewable. There isn't an option to disable caching, so development becomes an unnecessary pain in the ass. "Plugins" are all core hacks that overwrite key files, just like they used ...

Re: We need your donations. Campaign 2011

I talked to someone who has experience with this type of thing and have plastered some key areas with Google text ads. Only for non-registered users of course. I have good expectations, but we'll see.

As an aside, this required a core hack in phpbb, which is completely ridiculous.

Re: Global Website Issues

Damn, that recaptha still does not keep out those fuckers. I'm guessing they are human trash, though. I will try and get that sortable captcha thing in, though I doubt it will keep out the human scum. Installed a better sortables captcha. The other one was half baked and buggy. As an aside, phpbb h...

We do actually have a favicon, as seen on http://www.xentax.com - http://www.xentax.com/favicon.ico , but it hasn't been readded to the forum or wiki since we were attacked a few months back (and I'm not sure if it was created specifically for XeNTaX or picked up from somewhere, since I've seen it ...
