There seems to be some renewed interest in Tomb Raider Angel Of Darkness so I made a skinning tool. It extracts the skin textures from the CHR or GMX files and re-inserts the custom ones.

whoa that last generic DDS ripper/inserter I posted was a memory hog (ouch). It wasn't apparant until JP used it on the Lego Star Wars full game 1gb library file with 10,000+ DDS graphics in it. Fixed now http://www.spared-life.com/SparedLifeFiles/SLConverter-DDS-1.04.zip I extracted all files but n...

Sorry they couldn't help you with your problem but as near as I can tell the programs they have for Anniversary work just fine. That link I gave you is to a modding thread where the users have made lots of skins for Lara. You can also modify the complete levels textures, both background and foregrou...

hmm well yes I read your post. The game does not work unless the textures are in the archive. If what you posted is a sample from said archive then the textures are not archived but only stored in the library. If you want to edit the textures (skin the game) and what you posted is a valid part of th...

From the example you gave they appear to be complete DDS files with a separate unique header on top of the DDS header. Try using one of my DDS extraction tool. Maybe this one: http://www.spared-life.com/SparedLifeFiles/SLConverter-DDS-1.02.zip It's fairly easy to use. Create a folder, drop the DDS t...

whoa, just a clip should have been good. That's a lot of trouble you went to. I looked at the file and I can see the graphics but I can't export to a useable format. They appear to be some kind of indexed or palletted graphic. The file identifier is RTX3 if that helps anyone

DDS size is not in power of 2 is the new feature of DX10 True but the current Photoshop DDS plugin I have does not support DX10. I had trouble before with multiples of 2 in graphics instead of powers of 2, will be glad to see a plugin show up for this. btw, you sure this extra length, just wasn't m...

Mario_Kart is correct about placing the DDS header, I did however notice some problems to that. It looks as though the original files header is not the same length for every texture and the graphics dimensions are not DDS compatible. In other words the width and height are not powers of 2. I was abl...

thanks! You bet, One of these days I'll figure out how to read indexes. They never make sense to me because they rarely point to the proper offset. Even though there is a filename index on many libraries I still have to rip the graphics by searching for a common string at the start of each graphic....

If you can tell me the arrangement I should be able to get you something useable. I don't know about the indexed DXTs but the others should be doable. I looked at the byte arrangement but didn't see the pattern. If you can tell me how many bytes to read left to right or how many to read top to botto...

Nice but I don't have Paintshop, sounds like a great feature though. You may not be a programmer but if you can manipulate your graphics program to unravel these textures that's a great talent. Makes me wonder if other game textures can be edited in a similar manner. I don't suppose Photoshop does t...

Oh thanks...I needed another file to test with. I had the height & width variables backwards but thanks to this post I think it's working now. The only problem I see is I forgot the mips=1 in the header so WTV doesn't like it but Photoshop is OK with it. Remember it's upside down Things to remem...

I see some say unswizzled and are correct DDS files. Did you do that? Did you create a tool to convert to standard DDS?
